It would be very hard (especially if you had a big wedding) to spend time with all of them.  You had a receiving line so you should be fine!

I felt that same guilt! I think most everyone understands that it’s nearly impossible to mingle with everyone. Hearing from guests how much fun they had really helped my feelings of guilt.

My husband and I both struggled a little with this feeling as well. But most guests know that it’s a big/busy day and that you just won’t get to spend as much time with the bride and groom as you would like. We had a relatively small wedding (50 guests) so we’ve tried to spend a lot of individual time with everyone afterwards. You can call some of them up personally just to thank them again and maybe that will make you feel a little better

FutureMrsM2014: I was so overwhelmed and exhausted at my wedding that once all the formalities were over (ceremony, photographs, sit down meal) I didn’t do any mingling at all. I spoke to people and spent time with my guests but did not go around talking to every single person. I’ve realised I’m not that kind of person. I can talk to people when they come to me but, unless I’m close to you, I would struggle to come up and initiate a conversation.

Don’t worry, I’m sure lots of brides are/were the same. You sometimes hear about brides who just run around all the time talking to every single person and are absolutely frazzled. I definitely wouldn’t like that.

FutureMrsM2014:  I felt guilty for not spending time with everyone that came and celebrated at our wedding, too. Then, pictures started coming back, and low-and-behold, there I was, chatting with the guests I thought I hadn’t talked to! It turned out that the day was just so overwhelming that I forgot that I had spent time with them . . .

FutureMrsM2014:  I’ve always thought that it was better to have the bride & groom on the dance floor because it means that other people will have to dance to visit with them!
