- Wedding: October 2013
Hello Fellow Bees,
I have been following this site since before I got engaged, and upon reading all the positive experiences with Jasmine’s Bridal Shop, I decided to go for it!
After I got engaged, I got in touch with Jasmine’s, filled out the form, and sent my deposit May 27.
This is the dress I ordered – mainly because it is impossible to find anything similar at any of the shops in my province:
Because the dress is knee length, I assumed it would take less time than a very ornate gown, and had no worries that the dress would be to me with a few weeks to spare for alterations. (4 months to wedding date at this point)
I had hoped for a very pale pink base with an offwhite chiffon over to give it a subtle pink look and asked to see 2 samples. The photos were sent 6 weeks later – July 15th. After seeing the samples, I (within 48 hours) chose the colours and fabrics I liked and was told the dress would go into production.
In the 3 weeks since, I asked several times whether the dress would arrive prior to my wedding date. I didn’t get a definite answer until yesterday. It said:
Providing I make no revisions, the dress would be shipped before my wedding date.
I have yet to see any productions photos and am very disappointed that after all the time that has gone by, waiting for responses, I will not be able to make revisions to the dress if there is an error.
As of today, there are just over 7 weeks until my wedding. I have a pit in my stomach and feel as though my order got lost in the shuffle, and now there is a chance I am going to end up with a less than perfect dress. (Or no dress at all!)
The staff at Jasmine’s has been very friendly, but I am feeling so out of the loop, and very helpless.
Has anyone else had an experience like this? Did your dress turn out ok? Should I be shopping for a dress off the rack in the meantime?
Any insight you could provide would be very helpful.
