I love Fall and October is my favorite month! I was planing on getting married on October 12th 2013. We went to look at the venue we really want and they’re already booked for that day. I was bummed but the venue owner told us that the first week of Nov was available, (Nov 2nd) and it’s $2,000 less starting in Nov. She told me that the weather doesn’t change that much at all between October to the first half of Nov. So I could get the Fall wedding for a good amount of money cheaper but I would have to give up the Oct date. Is it worth it? After the visit to the venue my dad also told me he would pay for the venue, we told him the Nov price. So if we did keep Oct we would have to pay the other $2,000. What’s the better choice?

I would go for it! November weather in the midatlantic isn’t usually scary (as in, I think you can be reasonably sure that a major weather event won’t interfere with travel plans). You’ll still get the fall feel and save a bundle.

I think you should book it. Its the venue you love AND it saves your dad money.

My Darling Husband and I really really wanted an October wedding, but all the venues we looked at were already booked in October and we had to settle with November 12th. We were really bummed because November 12th was after the time change and we were going to lose an hour of daylight. But you know what? The weather in November was MUCH better than it was in October (in Baltimore it SNOWED on October 31st, but on November 5th it was like 65 degrees and gorgeous). We ended up with a PERFECT day, the weather on November 12th was mid-50s lovely, the sky was blue and clear, and we couldn’t be happier that we “settled” for a November date!
