Hi bees! This is my first post but I’ve been stalking the boards for a while now. Ring porn is my favorite type of post so I thought I’d introduce myself that way 🙂
FI and I have technically been engaged since this summer, no proposal, just a mutual agreement after 4 or 5 dates (when ya know, ya know). I relocated from the US to Ireland for FI and then we waited until Christmas when I met his family in Australia to announce it to everyone. We had originally decided on gold bands and an elopement but the family convinced us otherwise. After deciding we would have a small ceremony I decided I needed a bit of sparkle.
We actually ended up getting my ring on ebay, and had an amazing experience. We were on a tight budget but we ended up getting an amazing deal and I couldn’t be happier!

It is a GORGEOUS ring! CONGRATS!!!
I can totally feel you too… me and my guy are not officially engaged yet but we have set a date/time period and even picked out a ring together. I know it is coming sometime soon but he still wanted to do a proposal and everything so I am super pumped about that.
Congrats again! And happy planning!

@lillian_egypt: Ooooh!! Beautiful! And it looks so pretty on your hand. Congrats on your “official” engagement and on your lovely ring!!

Gorgeous ring! Congratulations, and good luck to you and your FI.
I kind of know what you mean. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year (in a couple of weeks), but have been talking marriage since the second month of our relationship. We’re both in college and live at home, but we know we’re going to get married and have even set future goals together, and everything.
Again, congratulations, and I would like to see a profile picture of the ring as well.

@CallMeMrsG: I love that your man still wants to surprise you, that’s really sweet. I sort of wish I had some sort of “official” proposal, when people ask us how the proposal went we’re always like, “errmm, well… we didn’t really have one..” It is nice though being able to pick out your own ring.
@sleepyhead22: I tried to take one from the side there, my phone isn’t great at picking up details. Here’s one anyway! (sorry for all the knuckle!)

@lillian_egypt: Very pretty ring! Congratulations on your marriage! So happy for you :).
I’m in the same boat you were, engaged, but not yet officially, and waiting on the ring and proposal. It was also a “when you know, you know” instant electric attraction – we’ve been together around 7 months now and recently set a proposal timeline. I can’t wait!

I’m not sure why my photos are sideways…
@slytherinvixen: I’m still in school as well, but FI isn’t. Are you waiting until you’re both graduated? I have too many years left to wait I think I’ll be in college forever.

@SomedayHisBride: I love the sort of instant engagements, even if it’s not official. Something so romantic about knowing right away.

@baileyjosephine: gosh, I’m not really sure. I know it’s from the 1950s, it’s a white gold illusion setting behind the stone. I think it’s meant to make it look like a princess cut.
