Aww, I feel for you.  My closest friends are 1.5 hours away.  My bff is 6 hours away!  Right now I have my parents nearby, but they are about to relocate 10+ hours away.  *hugs*  🙁

Aw sorry, I have the same prob, most of my friends are out of state…

I joined some meet up groups recently in my area and have made a few decent friends, but it’s too early to develop any deeper friendships, but I hope it will get there!

Get out more, and make new friends! They will be there to support you! =)

@NekoKitten:  I’m in the same spot.  My BFFs are both about a 3 hour plane ride away (in opposite directions).  One is moving to India jsut after my wedding.  FH and I have few friends where we live now.  I have some but they’re all at least an hour away.

@NekoKitten:  what is going on with your relationship? Maybe your sadness isn’t bc your friends are so far away… the root is prob bc you are unhappy with FI?

@NekoKitten:  Aww, count me in for that! *hugs*  DH and I don’t socialize a whole lot and I haven’t really made any close gf’s since moving here.

+1 to the PP!  I was discussing nail polish with my husband the other night and I stopped in the middle and looked at him and said, “you really do not care about this, do you?” He was a good sport, said his eyes hadn’t glazed over yet, and we both laughed.

NekoKitten aww I am sorry I feel the same way.  My family and closest friends are across the country from me (3.5 hour plane ride) and FI’s fmaily is close but they haven’t always been the warmest to me.  FI works at night and I work during the day so it’s really lonely for me sometimes.  I do a lot of yoga and have made some friends at my studio and the bee is always a good place to interact with some people and get support when you need it.  I facetime with my mom almost everyday.  Hope things turn around for you!

@NekoKitten:  I understand, though less because of distance and more because I have trouble talking to people and getting to know them. I’ve been this way since I was about 8 and it led to a lot of loneliness at times.

Focusing on hobbies helps me a lot. I love to read and write so I try to spend time doing that (writing has been rough the past few months – I have no inspiration at the moment). I’d like to get out and meet people my age in the area, but I don’t know how. And even if I did know how, I wouldn’t know what to talk about. I overthink everything.

All of my good friends are at least 1 1/2 hours away too, with some of them 4 or 5 hours away 🙁 It gets lonely sometimes, and wedding planning has been so much more difficult not having my ladies close by for support
