@echolove:  Aw *hugs* it’ll be ok!!

Why can’t you stay with your FI in the meantime?

And I usually don’t advocate getting into debt, but surely you can charge a motel/hotel to your credit card for the next week, no? Sounds worth it to me if you can’t stay with your FI.

@echolove:  Hmmm! Can you get FI to pay for motel/hotel? What does he think about all this? I am sure he won’t let you sleep in your car or anything like that.

So your plan is to sleep in your car for the next week?

@echolove:  I really think you need to stay with your FI’s family. Even if it’s awkward, it’s safer than sleeping in your car.

@echolove:  Sorry but I’m mad at your FI for not stepping up here. I’d let you stay with me if I wasn’t in Canada! Lol.

Without knowing the full story about what is going on with your mom, my advice is to suck up your pride and go back to your mom’s house for a week (I know how much that sucks because I’m REALLY stubborn).  When you get there, just keep to yourself, don’t interact with her, do every single dish you use the moment you get done using it, and be the most gracious houseguest you can.

Sometimes we feel like we don’t have anyone to lean on because we don’t allow ourselves to lean on anyone.  If you really cannot stomach moving back to your mom’s house, allow yourself to lean on your FI’s family.  You’ll be their family soon, so it cannot be a huge imposition.

Good luck, and *hugs*

I am so sorry. I have been in your position before and I had to swallow my pride and go back home to my mother’s for a while. Unfortunately, it looks like you might have to do the same as hard as it would be.

@echolove:  Do you have friends that you could stay with?

@echolove:  You’re not a loser – you’re going through a transition. Things will start looking up as soon as you get into that apartment and get settled.  Having to live out of your car sucks, but it’s doable.  I lived out of my own car for nearly three months when I was 21.  Then I lived at my husband’s(then boyfriend’s) house, sneaking in and out so his parents wouldn’t know, for quite some time.

Honestly, if it’s only until the third, I can’t imagine your FIs parents being inconvienced by you being there for such a short time.  Do you ever just spend the night with your FI?  I would ask before resorting to the car for certain.  But, if you do have to resort to the car, you’ll be okay – you’ll get through this 🙂
