I feel for you--I can't even go into ours because I want to bring every single dog, cat and everything else home. I did try to volunteer at one point, but it broke my heart having to put the dogs back in their cages after walking them.
I know how you feel, and my husband is the same way. I'm always asking for a puppy, but considering we already have a dog that's hard to handle due to seperation anxiety and we have a baby coming soon, he does make a good point. Doesn't make me want one any less though!
I feel for you. All I have to do is set foot in an SPCA and I want to adopt all the animals. I used to volunteer there but had to stop because I was too tempted to adopt an animal and we already have a dog and a cat.
Tell me about it! We went to the impound to meet a dog to possibly foster. Unfortunately, my resident dog didn't get along very well with the other dog. It broke my heart to leave him there, especially since he's STILL there. He's seven months old and has been in the pound for over a month now, meaning not only is his time running out, but he's spending his puppyhood in the pound.
I understand how you feel. I would have a hard time leaving there empty handed too. One day I was at the pet store and saw the cutest kitten in a cage and texted pictures to DH and he said no. I understandy why- we already have 2 cats and a dog, but I just wish I could adopt every one of them!
Ugh, that's the worst. I have always been someone who adopts from shelters or rescue right off the streets. My whole family has always been like that. I am getting the rescue itch lately but my husband doesn't want to have a new pet for awhile. I suppose he's right, we are about to have a baby in about 6 weeks. But it's so sad knowing how many sweet pets are being left behind :( I can't take the idea. I have to talk myself out of going to the local shelters. Maybe if you take your husband to meet the sweet black kitty he'll fall in love and it will be his choice :)

I was running errands today, and I came across our local SPCA ... we aren't really in a good place for another pet right now, we are super busy landscaping, and finishing our house, and we already have a dog and a cat, but all the poor homeless kitties were breaking my heart, especially the little black kitten that kept running up against me, crawling on me, snuggling into me purring ... it was so hard to leave her behind! I also know that since I chose out current 2 pets, that it is DH's turn to choose our next one ... I texted him pictures, but he is being a meanie and says no baby animals for now ...
