Because of my budget concerns (and just the small town that we live in) we had to go with a pretty conventional venue. It's a great deal and I was super stoked about it, until my friend commented that our old coworker's mom got married there last year. It doesn't bother me so much that I know someone who has had both the same ceremony and reception venues, but her wedding got terrible reviews! I heard it was tacky and the food was horrible (I'm not sure that she used their catering company...I heard horror stories that she served hot wings and that is nowhere near my caterer's menu). Plus, she acted like the room that the reception is in will be way too small, but I'm only having 75 guests! I think it will be plenty of space, but that bothersome seed of doubt has been planted.
In an effort to make it feel like it is an "us" event I am diy-ing as much as possible (even handmaking all of our flowers), but now I feel like that place has a stigma with guests that attended both weddings. Anybody else been worried about this kind of thing?
