Let me start at the beginning, I’ve been engaged since the June 1st, my fiancé and I already had a plan (a bit vague, anyway) to get married in Autumn 2014, with a civil cerimony in Italy so both our families can attend. We haven’t fixed a date yet nor have we chosen the location of the ceremony, although we’re pretty sure of where we’re going to have the reception (a bit backwards, I know).
Today I had my first appointment at a bridal salon in Nice so I could try on different styles of dresses. The consultant performed an unbelievable feat pulling out 6 different dresses in different fabrics and silhouettes under my 800€ budget.
I felt a bit overwhelmed by the first dress, and by the A-lines in general.. they hugged and flattered and slimmed but… I felt like a walking, talking, giant meringue. (Other brides-to-be entourages do not appreciate this kind of humour, let me tell you)
A bit dismayed by all the lace and bling and endless layers of tulle, I asked my consultant to get me something made of chiffon, as I’ve had my eyes on a chiffon dress from Ruche ever since the bridal collection came out.
It was a hit. It was a size too small (and I could barely bend in it once it was zipped) but that dress made me feel like myself! It wasn’t perfect, but it was a hundred times better for me than the others!
At home I tried to find the photo of the model so I could show my best friends who couldn’t come with me. And I opened my Ruche bookmark to send that picture for comparison. That’s when I noticed… that all things bridal were marked 40% off. Until Sunday.
It was even cheaper than the one in the store (490€) once it was marked down. Shipping to France included it came up to 375€. And it’s silk.
I checked the return policies 3 times and I jumped.
I might as well be the first Ruche bride on the website!

Cross your fingers that it will fit! And that I won’t regret it. 😛
