I use myfitnesspal too (have been for about 2 years now – at first to lose about 40 pounds and now to maintain).  I have one meal per week (sometimes an entire day) that I don’t care about going over calories.  Sometimes I don’t even enter them.  Otherwise, I’d go crazy and never stick with it!  Also, even with doing that, I still lost weight at a faster pace than I had set (I think I had it set at 1 lb per week and lost about 1.5-2lb per week).  You’re fine!  If you aim for perfection with counting calories, you will fail.  If you aim for improving, sucess is much more likely!

mm86:  So with you, I started MFP about 2 weeks ago and I traveled for work this week and totally destroyed it for 3 days STRAIGHT. But you know what, don’t beat yourself up for it. Just stick to your goals as much as you can and celebrate your successes.
