So bees, I have become a die-hard yogi fan since only like… 5 mos ago.
I don’t know how I managed to, but I somehow allowed myself to do things like side-crow and bound headstands (maybe I have crazy Amazon woman strength) in the course of a few months.
Anyway, I thought it would be fun to introduce ourselves and yadda yadda.. how long you’ve been doing yoga, what types you enjoy, what you’re proud of, what asanas you love/hate….
I started out with hot yoga (never did non-heated yoga until recently).. went up to 3-4 sessions/wk, mix of bikram & vinyasa-flow types. I stopped hot yoga recently, because my skin has been seriously misbehaving ever since I started going on the regular.
On a related note, can someone enlighten me on how, despite bathing/washing my hair/washing my face repeatedly before/after hot yoga… I can get rid of REALLY bad acne flare-ups? Or even better, prevent these stinkin flare-ups in the first place?

@romantical: I know it is a couple of months late but I am also a fellow yoga enthusiast. At the moment I am focussing more on P90X because I want to be super toned in time for my wedding but my go to workout of choice is yoga.
I have been doing yoga for a few years now. I really enjoy power yoga but on my low energy/off/sick days I prefer some gentle relaxation yoga. I love how yoga makes me feel so relaxed that I will do it even when I feel really really crappy. I love warrior 3, mostly because I can see how defined my stomach is when I am in the pose. I also love plough, it does great things for my back. I absolutely do not like crane. But that is only because I can’t do it without falling flat on my face!
I have never done hot yoga but I would guess that you have really sensitive skin and perhaps the high temperature is really not suited to you. Your body will usually let you know (in the form of illness, acne, etc), when it does not like something.
