I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 because I was having irregular painful cycles and put on birth control for the next 7 years. I did one year on mirena (BAD IDEA) before my husband and I decided to TTC. I had my IUD removed in March and actually started having regular cycles at 37 days.
Six months of trying and I figured it was time to see and RE who put me on metformin 2000mg to start with. That shortened my cycles to 33-35 days but I still wasn’t getting a positive OPK.
So then I was put on femara 5mg this month CD3-7 and I’m on CD 13 now and I still don’t have a positive OPK. What I do have is one strong control line and a very faint test line. The faint test line does seem to be getting any darker, I’m afraid it might even be getting lighter. I am so paranoid that I already ovulated right after I finished my period and didn’t even know. I was having so many side effects with the Femara, I could barely function at work so we didn’t BD until yesterday CD 12.
From what I read online, that faint line shouldn’t even appear until LH surge and then it should only get darker from there. I’m testing twice a day, approx at noon and 10pm, and that faint line just continues to be faint.
Does anyone know what’s going? My RE told me to call after CD21 if I still haven’t had a OPK on femara and he would do more blood work. Oh, and my blood work and ultrasound were all normal. I am so frustrated, I don’t know what’s going on with my body and my cycles and I just feel completely hopeless. BD, using OPKS, femara, everything just feels so futile.
TL;DR: 23yo w/ PCOS starts 1st cycle on Femara, faint line on OPK since CD 9, not getting darker since, needs help figuring what’s going on.
