Or rather, how often would you like to and how often do you actually do it?

I go 4-5x/week as long as I don't go out of town on the weekends. I feel like such a slacker if I only go 3 times though! 3 days in a row is my max, then I need a day off. How did I ever handle 6 days a week of basketball in high school?!

Monday (weight training), Tuesday (turbokick), Thursday (long cardio), Friday (Pilates/cardio), and Saturday (step) are my typical gym days.

    What's your routine?

Oh man.  I wish I went 4-5 times a week.  That is always my goal.  Usually more like 1-2 though sadly.  I'd like to do cardio each day and then weight training every other.  I try and do spinning once a week.  I'm moving this week though so I'm counting that as a bunch of gym time :)

Dang. Wish I was as dedicated as you! Supposedly my routine is:

Monday: Run (3 miles) and arm weights

    Tuesday: Cardio

    Wednesday; Strength Training

    Thursday: Run/Arm Weights

    Friday: Kickboxing

But it usually is just a portion - I rarely make it every day. But I need to - just 64 days to go!

kara -- when we moved in early June, I totally counted those days as running days, haha.  That is EXHAUSTING!

I run (with my FI, sometimes relatives) 4 times a week.  We're training for a marathon, and I'm starting to regret it a little ;)

As if that wasn't enough, I also bike to work, which is just 6 miles a day round trip.

Basically... I eat all the time.

Yeah eating is a problem.  Why is food so good?!  Also I hate running which sucks because it's such a cheap and easy option!  I am moving closer to my gym so hopefully that will help?! ...sigh... almost at 100 days too!  And my first dress fitting is in 2 weeks, ah!

I run 5 times a week, which averages about 30 miles a week, and try to shred or lift weights 2 times a week.

It's getting really hot where I live though, so my running is limited to after 7pm, which gets messed up when I have evening plans. I am training for a marathon, but I had to stop doing long runs after I hit the 20 mile long run. I guess my body just isn't used to the heat yet!

Just started my 3x a week bootcamp so thats what I've got going on right now. on my off days I am taking walks with my dog and maybe doing a 20 min turbo jam...

My days are alternated by my trainer, like this week is significantly different then next week..

    This week consisted of:

    Monday - Upper body
Wednesday - Hills, Stairs (cardio) and a bagillion crunches!
    Friday - Circuit training

Next week is entirely different, which looks like this:

    Monday - Lower body
Wednesday - The Gauntlet (I dont know what that is just yet, but it  sounds terrible)
    Friday - Upper body

Etc Etc....Now I just need to eat better - thats the worst part of my quest for the perfect wedding body!

It does sound terrible! The gauntlet. Let us know if you can walk on Thursday, LOL.

The diet's even harder! I feel like I should be rewarded with cake every time i do 60 minutes on the elliptical. Seriously. You could dangle cake in front of me on the treadmill and i'd be like a damn horse with a carrot.

Alas, I'm on an 8-day low calorie, no processed foods, low sodium diet to flush my body of all the shower junk food and bachelorette beverages I consumed this past weekend. And no food after 6pm. A tip passed along to me by my friend who's a pro cheerleader! She has the best, sneakiest tips ever. Boy it's tough but I lost the 4 pounds of water weight I was carrying already!

I do strength training Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday with my personal trainer. Spinning 4 days a week, dance 3 times a week, yoga 3 times a week and I run once or twice a week outside.

I work with cakes, cupcakes & sweets galore. Oh and I MUST sample every scrap before I can send a baked good out. If anything is wrong with it- I need to know! Those bites add up.

oh my goodness, torture! I'm one of those bakers who nibbles everything she makes as she goes along to tweak it. Some magazine I read that, on average, every "bite" of something you take is about 25 calories, so they definitely add up.

Wow there are a LOT of ladies who go 4-5 times a week! I'm curious how you go so often without feeling like you're not spending time with the FI. I'm sorta worried about this when my FI gets out of the military. He'll be like, "do you HAVE to go? watch tv with me" etc and try to sabotage me! I'd make him go with me but he's in PT for his ankle so it's not like he can do much. a friend of mine told me recently than men are malleable to a certain point...which i LOVED b/c i work with metals. Such a nerd.

Well my FI and I live 3000 miles apart, but I definintely know what you mean ejs4y8! When we're together I'm not busting my butt nearly as hard. I find its a lot more difficult to fit in the same amount of workout time when he's around. I'd much rather be lazy & sit on the couch with him than hop on a bike. I'm also not surrounded by cake-- so I usually drop a few pounds when I'm visiting his place!

In recent trips I have made an effort to work out together... I think thats a good option! Both of you can head to the gym at the same time- do your thing separately, but still feel like you did it together!

I have a full-time job and also feel like fitness and staying healthy is my other full-time job.

I teach 4 classes of spin a week

    I run 6-7 miles, 5 days a week

I love the gauntlet, I do that twice a week for 45 minutes and if you wanna sweat get your bootie on one of those!

I also strenght train 4 days a week, lots of light weight but high reps.  I run a lot and road bike so I need to stay lean, the easiest way to get better at running or biking is lose some lbs.

I also change my workout every three weeks to shock my muscles!

I do most of this at 5am!!! I wake up at 4:30am and at the gym by 5am

Most of my friends think I am crazy for this but I have been working out at 5am for the last 10 years. Personally I think my friends that work out after 6pm are crazy! :)

I also eat lots of protein so my muscles won't get damaged or worn out.

I need an outlet and running and exercising is it!

Wow! How do you ladies do it??? I used to be extremely active -- run a lot, play soccer, weight train. But after I graduated college last year and then got married, it's been much harder! I'm in the boat of what ejs4y8 was saying: I feel like I'm spending time away from my hubby. We used to go to the gym together, but he injured his shoulder and now needs surgery, so it'll be another 6 months before he's at the gym again.

Me and my girlfriend are trying to motivate each other, but going 5 times a week is too much I think for me with work and then coming home to cook or at least spend some time with the Mr.

So tell me ladies, what's your diet like? and how do you stay motivated? I feel like I need to see immediate results or I get discouraged -- even though I know this is impossible! I have trouble stringing together 3 days straight with work or life getting in the way.

Any tips are so appreciated! I just want to tone and maybe lose 5lbs or so... going for the athletic/fit look that I'm quickly losing. :(

I work out 4-6 days a week.  I try to get a lunch time workout in, which will usually consist of a 30 minute interval workout on the treadmill followed by plyometric exercises for my legs and butt.  Tuesday I will get a lunchtime Pilates Class in, and Thursdays, a lunchtime lifting class.  In the evenings, when i get home (if we feel like it) the boy and I will try and hit a cycle class about 2-3 times a week, as well as Saturday morning Spin class.  I also try and squeeze in a Kickboxing class or step class, depending on what i was able to accomplish for the week, and how my body is feeling (or if we werent able to make it to cycle class...I prefer step class and kickboxing, but the boy loves spin, so i like that we get to take that together).  Of course life gets in the way( HH's, dinners, just being lazy, tired, etc. lol), but on average, I would say I get a workout in 4-6 days a week.  I am not engaged (YET!! SOOONNN!!!!) but my goal is to not have to lose any weight when i go for my first dress fitting, and to just have to maintain between the engagement and our wedding day.  Right now, im about 8 lbs away from where i would like to be, but I would be comfortable staying at my current weight for the wedding, if i were to get engaged like tomorrow.

I was working out 4-5x or more per week until I started my summer internship. I now spend two hours commuting on top of 8 hours at a desk, and clenching my fists (etc.) in traffic is about all the physical exertion I can stand during the week now!

I have a plan to get back into my gym routine... next week. ;)

4-5x on a good week, and a ride on Saturday. BUT- this past month, I've been lucky if it's 1x. I have been so crazy busy it's insane. I do manage to walk the dog every day so I don't turn in to a total toad, but I actually miss the gym some days. Things are looking up, though. I should make 3x this week.
