- Wedding: June 2011
Disclaimer: My FH has been quite good about participating in wedding planning and enjoying the details. He likes going to visit our venue to show every single family member who hasn’t seen it yet. He has claimed to be happy with eating at the cafe catering our wedding on numerous occasions to try the food yet again. He even wanted to have a tux custom made. He cares, he really does.
But as we are 5 weeks out, I think he is starting to break. We got in a fight two nights ago because he feels like he has lost his girlfriend to wedding planning. He (gasp!) doesn’t want every breath and every word of every conversation to be about our wedding. He doesn’t want to hear (again) about our centerpeices. He doesn’t need to be updated on every tiny detail of every tiny bit of progress about every single aspect of our wedding. He works 50 hours a week, and when he comes home he woudl like to talk about movies, food, sports, friends, books, the weather, anything but all wedding all the time.
I got mad because I felt like he didn’t understand the cataclysmic size of planning a $20,000 plus party for 140 people.
Now I notice other people’s eyes starting to glaze when I mention seating charts, bridesmaid dresses, and problems with guest accomodations. Co-workers, friends, even my mom (!) I think are getting bored.
I keep telling everyone ONLY 5 MORE WEEKS!!!
Anyone else driving their FH and nearest and dearest nuts with planning? Our plight is not understood!!
