My Fiance came home and said ” I have the best idea. Let’s tell people we want gift cards from certain places, like home depot”. I thought it was so sweet he really put some thought into this. The only problem is I’m not sure what to tell him. Even though we are registered can we tell people to give us gift cards?
* side note… He also said ” go get on your wedding website and ask your ‘bees’ ” hahahaha

Why can’t you just add gift cards to your registry? Most stores will allow you to do that.
Does he not know that many people also just give cash?

I’ve heard people requesting gift cards and had no problem with that, but just in case most places with a registry let you select gift cards as an option. You could always keep the number of items kind of small and do that, they might get the hint.

I don’t think I’d have a problem with people asking that of me, but I know some people who would see that in the same light as asking for cash right out. I agree with adding gift cards to the registry. If you have a wedding website you can add something about gift cards on there as well.

Love this. My fiance calls it “that green website where you are all the time.” He totally wants to register at Home Depot too. I think just registering there will clue people in to where you want gift cards from. I’ll be the first to admit that if I’ve put off buying a gift or don’t see anything on a registry that I PERSONALLY like, I’ll just buy the couple a gift card from that store and let them get their own spatulas.

Our registry already had them on there when we signed up.
