My fi sucks at shopping too.. he’s pretty good about lists.. but he’ll come home with a bunch of other random things.

He has a habit of shopping hungry.. and.. everything suddenly looks good to him.

I really try not to send him in a store alone!

He is also really horrible with putting his clothes in a laundry basket. I have a laundry basket in the bathroom, bedroom, foyer, and backdoor. And somehow I’ll still find his laundry in all those rooms, the kitchen and the living room! It drives me batty!

@allyfally:  My fi doesn’t do laundry until he’s naked and realizes he has nothing to wear. I normally get it it before that, but sometimes in the summer I just don’t have the time.

@allyfally:  my FI sucks at grocery shopping too, but thankfully he is successful when I give him a list. The problem then is that he buys everything on the list plus anything else he sees that he fancies, so the grocery bill doubles. There’s only two of us, so obviously most of the food he chooses doesn’t get eaten and goes directly into the compost bin after a week :/ Silly men!

@jenilynevette:  oooh your FI and I share that in common. I never think to do laundry. Thankfully, my FI does it and I always have clean clothes washed, ironed, and put away for me! Even when I see that my hamper is overflowing, I don’t think to do laundry.

Haha!

DH sucks at putting his clothes in the hamper. And then like a nice wife I do all the laundry in the hamper and he complains that he has nothing clean to wear to work (because its either in the bathroom after he showers or in his car after work) UGH lol.

He takes longer to get out the door than I do. And he isn’t so great at laundry!

Just hugged my FI because now I know he isn’t the only guy that does this lol! He isn’t good at cooking or grocery shopping. He came home the other day with frozen fries, ice cream, cookies and orange juice. I asked him…”Oh what’s for dinner?” He looked at what he bought and said, “I don’t know.”  (sighs)

@allyfally:  I always shop without DH because he is the WORST shopper. He worries about ‘not getting the right thing’ when it comes to meals or drinks, so he’ll stand in the aisle agonising over two different options for like half an hour, until I go “just PICK ONE”. My usual approach when shopping is to make a list and get the cheaper option where possible, but he never makes lists and can’t make a decision to save his life!

My FI is like that with grocery shopping. I usually do that “household” shopping. He comes home with milk, cookies, and beer. I swear.

BEING ON TIME!!  My FI is always wait until the minute past the last minute and then rush to do something, wildly rushing across town (“sure we can make it across LA in rush hour traffic in five minutes”) to get somewhere at the last minute.  On the other hand I’m the type to always have a book with me so that when I get somewhere a half-hour early I can relax and entertain myself.  Even he admits that I’m way better at time management than he is!

@allyfally:  My SO gets his mind set one something and buys stuff without really thinking it through or checking it out. It’s not a big deal right now, but I’m kind of crazy about being financially responsible and it’s one of those things we’ve talked about him needing to work on. Most recently, he decided he wanted a little truck he didn’t mind taking into the woods (his full sized truck is really nice and doesn’t see a lot of “work”). Long story short, he bought it despite some warning signs, and we now have a 2k dollar lawn ornament that better get moved in the next couple weeks.

@renwoman:  OH MY GOSH, YES. Mine constantly pokes around. It drives me crazy. I’ve gotten to where I get on him about getting his stuff around way before I’m ready.
