I know we say FI in the boards to mean “future intended,” but isn’t “intended” the word that means “fiance”? So FI would actually mean your future fiance? I don’t expect anyone to change how they write, (I just imagine FI to be short for fiance), but has anyone else thought of this?

I always took it as Future Intended husband/wife.

I always thought it meant fiance.

I always write FI while in my heading I’m thinking “fiance”. I pronounce it feee.

Future Intended is redundant. It doesn’t make sense, you’re right. But whatevs.

@LindsayMaree: That is exaclt her point. Your intended husband is your fiance so future intended husband is your future fiance, technically.

@redheadem: I’ve always been a little confused by the phrase “future intended,” too. Same thought process as you over here.

@FutureMsVW: Me too, exactly this.

I was always confused. And it took me forever to figure out DD or DS or DH. I had to google it.
Same things as “pwned” i guess. I had to google that too lol.

I think FI is fiancé (also pronounce FI as feee like a PP) and I have been caught a few times in real life calling him FI instead of fiancé hehe very embarrassing…

I always thought it meant Fiance until I read it meant Future Intended. I agree with @FutureMsVW: in that I always think of Fiance when I write it an pronounce it as fee in my mind!

I always thought FI= fiancé, too! You learn something new every day…

@Swizzle: I’ve had to do a lot of googling, too.
