Out of curiosity does anyone elses SO/DH/FI get so worked up that they like yell at the tv? My FI flips out, he yells at the news, he yells at CNN, and he yells at the XBOX when he either gets killed on Modern Warfare 2 or the game lags. I love the guy and sometimes I laugh at him but man other times its so annoying because I am the only person having to hear this. Poor boy drives me crazy sometimes, I just wanna throw him and his XBOX in the snow and tell him that he cant come back in until he learns how to act =)

WHenever the Jets/Mets/Rangers are playing :) He has serious sports rage. I told him he needs to get it under control by the time we have kids because if he wakes them up from their naps by screaming at the TV, I will make him pay for it!

HAHAHA :) That's funny. Nope, mine doesn't yell, he hardly ever yells, but he will cuss at the game/other players when he's on Modern Warfare :P

Mine does all the time! ESPECIALLY when he is playing modern warfare.. most of the time I don't really mind, but sometimes he'll seriously startle me (to the point of jumping out of my seat) with his random outbursts and I want to sock him in the head!

hahaha sometimes its not like like flinging vulgarities out its just like "O WTH MAN!!!!!!!" or something like that and thn its over. Or it will an all our verbal assault on the TV and when he is done standing on his soap box he is fine and every thing is all peachy. I tell him I think he may need to talk to someone about this lol

Like okqueenbee, by husband generally doesn't yell at the tv, but he'll cuss up a storm sometimes. Maybe not a storm, but he'll just keep saying bad words over and over and it bugs me lol I'm not a big fan of foul language (I personally don't use it at all), and I generally don't have a problem with other people doing it, but since he's my husband, I guess I have higher standards for him lol I don't care if he says something every now and then, or if there is a legit problem he needs to vent about, but a game lagging, or dying? I don't consider that legit lol

I'm the one that does this, although FI does it too. When kiddo was young I was breast feeding her during a UK basketball game and screamed "YES!". She started crying and shaking uncontrollably. . . .oops.

@bella - rofl I laughed so hard when I read this because I know exactly what you mean! It comes out of no where and I will be deeply ingrossed in something and be like "what? What happen?" and all I get it 'ah nothing"

I just want to be like you just screamed at the top of your lung and all you got it 'nothing"

My FI does this too! It is really annoying, I will be so engrossed in my book. I will hear him yell, scream, grunt, curse or w/e really loudly and it startles me so badly I will jump. One time I actually fell out of bed. Usually I will tell him to calm himself, or throw a pillow at him. But what is more fustrating is when he hurts himself, or mad he is super calm and logical. He shoved a knife into his thumb once, cooking and walks in the room like no biggie, holding a spurting finger. Seriously? This would be the time to yell out an obsenity. Oh well, I guess I can count my stars he keeps a calm head when it is an important matter.

Um, I got as far as Modern Warfare 2 and stopped - because the answer is yes.  My fiance plays this game CONSTANTLY and it drives me batty.  I can't deal with either his yelling OR the war/death noise the game makes!

I guess I'm in the minority here....FI is the quiet one.  I'm the one who makes the noise.  If and when I play on the Wii, I'm the one who screams out if I'm dying or something bad happens:  Noo nooo no no no!  haha  I also have a tendency to read something online and say, "OMG! No! No way!"  It could be something good or bad and then the FI keeps asking me what's going on.  I don't answer until I'm finished reading oops!

@christalynn11 - After I basically erupted at my fiance one morning over the ShootKillMilitary noises our TV was emanating thanks to that wretched game, we went out to Best Buy that very day and bought headphones. They have saved our relationship.

ugh!!! FI totally flips out when the laker game is on.  He's a die hard fan and just goes crazy watching the games.

Good side:  I can pretty much get what I want when the lakers are winning.  And when the lakers lose, ahhhh... that's the best part.  He suddenly wants to cuddle! hahaha

My fiance doesn't yell at the TV or anything, but he's a software engineer, so sometimes he's on the computer and he'll heave a big sigh or swear out loud and I'll ask what's wrong, and it's always some coding-related problem. I'll be in the other room and hear him get upset and I'll run in because I think something's actually wrong.

I'm the one who screams and shouts in the car because I have serious road rage :)

hahaha I read this thread to my FI and he laughed. I informed him that XBOX was the death of silent SO =)

@redherring -  He read your post and used it as a way to try to get me to say it was ok to spend $200 on a pair of those head phones but I informed him those things wont stop the yelling

Mine doesnt! but he whenever hes watching the football during season.. my god.. I want to be in another house!!! litterally hes yelling at the screen..and looks absolutely ridiculous for about 2hrs.. Whenever its game day.. I go for coffee with the Gfs so I dont have to put up with it, i cant handle it.

    lol.

However sometimes when I cant get out of the house.. hes yelling at the screen.. i look at him and goes.. oh.. i look stupid? and i give him a reenactment and he shuts up for at least half an hour trying to be quiet. Ill give him kudos for trying!

BF totally gets grumpy at the games.  It can be a bit odd, but at least it's just at the games, and not at me/us.

He's no worse than I am, I guess, except instead of outburst of anger, mine is a stead stream of vile and horrid insults spewed forth.  BF thinks it's funny to watch me play video games.

What is with this stupid Modern Warfare? FI will seriously play for HOURS at a time (The other day, he only took a break to shower), and sound like he's in a bad mood the entire time! I don't understand why he keeps playing, it sounds as if either he's really bad or he just doesn't like it!

@redherring, FI refuses to use the headphones because he doesn't like to hear all the 12 year olds. So I just have to endure. Oh well, the one before this one was freaking obnoxious and it really took all of my strength not to rip it out of the xbox and set it on fire. :)

@curlysue I'm the same way! I'll by like "OMG! That's so cool!" then not say anything for like five minutes until I'm done. Or I'll just suddenly gasp and that sets off alarm bells for him lol

My FI plays MW2, too. It's not that they don't enjoy it, it's just that sometimes there are really cheap shots aka a knife thrown up into the air that kills somebody without even trying or lagging that makes it so that you're dead before you even get shot. It only bugs me if he keeps doing it, partly because if I start to get frustrated with a game I just quit and try again later but also because one of my really good friends in grade school would freak out at games and I really don't want to associate them with each other.

Just a suggestion, cause I know a lot of you are completely anti-console, but try playing a game like Sacred 2. I'm not a fan of many games simply because I'm not coordinated enough to figure it out, but it's my favorite game and as long as you don't turn on gore, there's no blood and it's a good "save-the-world" story.

Oh, and the girl characters actually look really nice on there. My FI only plays as a girl character now because he said he didn't like looking at a guy's butt the entire game! Anyway, it has good background music to it also because they hired an actual band to create a song for their game that is sung in the marketplace. Seriously, check it out because it's super easy to play and your guy will probably like it too and therefore at the very least won't be playing a war game for awhile.

Mr.Bee -  Its a Call of Duty game. It is just a tactical war game that can be played online with other players. Basically silly boys with animated tactical weapons killing each other...boy stuff (disclaimer: I know girls play it too)

@shannon1126 - Yeah, the headphones are only beneficial if it's the other players or the game making noise. You'd need to get him to promise to shut up once he got them :)

@SaraRocks - He can totally mute the 12-year-olds. It's what my fiance does. That is definitely NOT a reason to forego headphones.

Call of Duty gave my FI turrets. Plays it constantly. The game comes with a headset so he can communicate with his friends who are also playing on his team, as well as random 11 year olds.  Randomly he will let loose a string of swear words at the top of his lungs. I've never heard a lot of them used together like that - it can be funny because it's so ridiculous, however occasionally I think we're having a conversation while he's playing and he lets loose - and for a second I think he's yelling at me.

I'm the one that is screaming and looking like a dork at the TV (Seahawks fan here) although he is always waking me up with that damn Modern Warfare...or After Effects!

Word of Warning: Do not agree to keep the Xbox in your bedroom! OMG that game is annoying when I wake up from a warm soft sleep to dying noises or grunts as he is killing god knows what.  I have thrown many things at him,...including remotes.
