I know this is ridiculous and silly, but my FI takes a new towel every time he bathes!!  Which is at least once a day and sometimes three...It drives me crazy!!  He goes through minimally 10 bath sized towels a week!!

Am I crazy that this bugs the heck out of me?  All I see are mounds and mounds of weekly laundry and replacing the worn towels every few months.

The towel thing is irritating, for sure. He needs to compromise (maybe agreeing to use a towel for 2-3 days instead of replacing every day). Mine goes to bed with socks on and then takes them off but leaves them in the bed. He makes them into little balls and pushes them toward my side. I'm forever pulling his "sock nuggets" out of the bed. It's a tiny bit cute now, but in 40 years?!

my FI grinds his teeth at night and bites his nails.. bah. he also is really ODD about having the shower closed PERFECTLY while in it so that noo cold air might come in. I KNOW there are so much more (is that bad??) but i cant think of them at the moment. haha.

My FI leaves coat hangers of door handles. I don't know why, but it annoys the cr@p out of me!! I've asked him not too, but I don't think he even realises he has done it unless I point it out.

Also he is allergic to closing kitchen cupboards. I can always tell what he had for breakfast because there is a path of destruction through the kitchen.

My FI picks his fingers...I absolutely cannot stand people picking their fingers! So yes it annoys me and I'm constantly asking him to stop lol.

@Beachfanatic -- I do the same thing!! The shower curtain thing, I totally have to have it closed perfectly ahahaha... except now we have a door, so it's soooo much better now.

My Fi, well, he...um.... FARTS all night long in his sleep. he doesn't know he does it but IT WAKES ME UP! GRR!!

Ooh, and if he wakes up before me but is still lying in bed, he is constantly MOVING. Twitching his feet or rolling over... it drives me nuts.

My FI bites his nails!  It drives me crazy!!  He also likes to chew on pen caps and completely destroys them.  I'm like, what if I wanted to close the pen again?

That would bother me too!  My FI has a bunch of habits that drive me nuts!  A lot of them are bathroom related lol.  Like, we use different soap bars, so he's got this thing where he can't use the bar of soap if its too small.  I'm not talking about when its so thin its breaking in half, its still a decent size.  So he'll have like 6 bars there, that he won't use.   And, he like to take the toilet paper off the roll, to use as a tissue box (even though we have tissue or we can at least afford to replace it when its empty).  He takes it away from the bathroom, so when I have to pee... problem!  And he uses my expensive shampoo when he runs out of his own, but he'll deny it.  I know he's used it because 1. the cap is open and 2. its not where it was when I got out of the shower.  Ugh!  I could go on, but I won't :)

my honey has a thing about his feet being "squished" by the comforter on our bed, so he has to completely un-tuck the bottom of the bedding every night, and lift it up and under his feet so they aren't "squished."  In and of itself this is not so bad, except that it results in shifting bedding all night (we are both restless sleepers) and then I have to re-make the bed practically from scratch in the morning (can't just pull up the covers and done, must strip and start from the beginning cause it gets so tangled).

lol We reuse our towels for a few times too, so that would bug me :) I just hate finding clothes in all rooms of the house. I mean it can be like a shirt or his pants in the kitchen! Why he can't just walk into the bedroom and remove his clothes is beyond me. Or he could at least pick them up himself, but nope...

Oh the list. God forbid he ever makes a list of things I do to annoy him... ;)  He comes in the door at the end of the day and drops everything. This is also the top of the stairs to our basement, so if I have to go downstairs to do laundry or grab stuff out of the freezer or pantry, I have to climb over his mountains of stuff. It makes me nuts! I can't tell you how many times I've nearly broken my neck! He'll let it sit there for days too and just add to the pile until I freak out and make him clean it up.

He's also a toilet paper instead of Kleenex guy. He uses it for EVERYTHING. Thank god he leaves it on the toilet paper holder, but seriously, he goes through a roll a day. How is that even possible?! When he gets out of the shower, he laces it between his toes. Why he can't dry his toes with the towel, I have no idea....

He sneezes SO loud it scares the cats.

He refuses to buy a car that costs more than $600 and when it dies after two months he's shocked. Sigh.

I could probably go on for hours, but overall, I love him and his quirks. His good outweighs the bad and that's what matters!

@ shellyjean, my guy HATES having his socks on, too!  And somehow all the dirty ones end up on MY clothes that I haven't put away!  UGH!  I don't want smelly nuggets on my clean shirts!!

He's also has terrible road rage.  He's a pretty laid back guy, but he's gotten so flustered behind the wheel he sometimes can barely find his way out of a parking lot, literally! I drive most of the time, now:)

Ugh...he picks his nose.  It literally turns my stomach just THINKING about it.  He claims that it's "so much safer for his sinuses to not use a tissue".  Bleh.  We've had many an argument over that.

He thinks it's hilarious to fart around me and fan it my way.  Not so funny.

I've gotten him to chew with his mouth closed now...if only he would start holding his forks and spoons properly (table manners are a huge deal to me...honestly though, I'm not sure why)!

I wonder what his list would be for me?  Haha

haha oh boy did this come at the right time bc fi JUST did something that annoyed me! He can be VERY short with me for no reason, and i truly believe he doesn't realize he's being short/rude.... but he comes off like he's mad at me!! Then I press the issue and it turns out he was just being his random weird self lol. Example, (right this minute): I am in our living room watching tv and FI is in the "man cave" which is basically a second living room half a flight off of the main living room. We were playing video games together earlier but I came upstairs about an hour ago to watch tv. I hear what sounds like tv going on in the 'cave so the following convo ensues (me talking to him from the other room)

    me: hey hun, watchin tv?

    him: nope.

me: oh... still playing video games?

him: nope (at this point walking past me to go to the kitchen

    me: so... watchin doin then?

    him: getting a drink

    me: no, i mean downstairs

    him: nothing

me: well i hear noise so obviously there is SOMETHING going on

    him: its a podcast

me: why didn't you just say you were watching a podcast?

him: not watching it. just listening (and he goes back downstairs)

like... what? why was that so hard? but i guarantee he's not upset with me because we hung out together all night and we were great. so he's just doing his weird non-talkative thing. argh so annoying!

@missyjane77 - He says it's so he doesn't get athlete's foot. That would make sense if he ever played any sports ;)  I can't even figure out what he does with the rest of it. I think he blows his nose 8000 times a day. Needless to say, I stock up on toilet paper when it's super duper on sale, otherwise I can't afford his bizarro habit!!!

I just cried picturing the toilet paper between the toes thing!

And to OP the towel thing would drive me nuts - the towel is not dirty because you dry yourself when you are clean.

The only thing that FI does that really annoys me is the little hairs he leaves on the bathroom vanity after he shaves - UGH!

@Corgi - FI does the same thing with me. I feel like some days he goes out of his way to be evasive, but it's almost like he doesn't know. It's so strange. I think it's just a communication difference between men and women though. He doesn't see why I want to know details so he leaves them out, but to me, it's just friendly curiousity! LOL!

@LindsayB - Farting. I'm not going to say I never fart around FI, but at times, I have to look at him and say "Honey. Not one of the boys. Seriously. Stop." because he's like a one man gas show, it's insane. I don't know where it all comes from and how he might think I would even remotely find it attractive. Ugh, boys are gross some times!

@Corgi - FI did the same sort of thing last week. All of a sudden he was like "Oh by the way, I'll be home late, I'm going out with the guys". Then I overheard him on the phone talking about massages (they go to a massage therapy school with good prices, we're not talking about something sleezy here! LOL!), and all these other plans. When I asked what was going on he was like "Oh nothing really." Ummmm that's not nothing! It sounded like he and the guys were having a spa day together (yep, they're metrosexuals but in the closet about it). I never get a spa day! Are you kidding me?! LOL!

@bakerella-  I have a secret talent that I'm going to actually share with you...I can fart of command.  Although I haven't used this certain talent since I was younger (um...farting contests with my sister...never lost!), my FI knows about it and I think it's his way of challenging me to a contest.  The waving the odor into my face though...I'm not so sure about his motives for that one.  Besides trying to gross me out.  Hahaha

EDIT-  I'm going to add here that MOST of the time I'm a lady...I will admit that around my FI, I'm only about 50% lady.  Hahaha  I still have yet to have a contest with him though.

Oh my god bakerella, the toiler paper thing!!! Not the toe thing, but using it as a Kleenex and going through like a roll a day. And his entire family is like that!!! The first time his parents came to stay with us for the weekend, we actually ran out of toilet paper. So embarassing.

Bahahaaha..... This is the best thread ever. I can't even choose just one or two annoying things about my guy! Thank god there are others out there! I having been going nuts for almost 10 years! Mine HAS to bloody whistle at every possible chance. Or tap his fingers on the steering wheel. Basically, he just has to make ANY kind of noise, all the time!!! Grrrr!!

Or has to sing the same song, that he only knows maybe one or two lines of, over and over.. not just ALL day, but I'm talking, literally, since last May! That one song, that one verse, I hear it every day, at least once! And when I beg him, Please stop, you have been singing that song since LAST MAY, he tells, me, bahahhaha... funniest response ever--"I'm a human being, I'm free, I can sing if I want to!" Ahahhahahh!! I tell him, I am also a Human Being(weirdo response) and as a "free" human being, I would like to not hear the same verse, of the same song(that is annoying without him singing it) for a year!!

Also, he is sooo weird about his toes. If he, for some odd reason, can't find his "shower slippers" he walks with his toes curled under so he "doesn't get germs and dirt on them!!" If that weren't strange enough of a reason, how about the fact that there would still be germs and dirt on the REST of his feet, and now, especially on his toe nails?!?! OMG!! He drives me NUTS!

The towel thing for sure... we go round and round about that. After he uses one he just throws it on the floor... drives me NUTS. One day I didn't clean up the house at all just to let him see what he and his little daughter are capable of destroying in one day.

Then I made him clean it up =) It was AWESOME... he still does the towel thing though but he is more conscious about just leaving his stuff on the floor where it falls now!

    SO GLAD THIS WAS POSTED!!!

My FI doesnt give the loo a courtsey flush (it needs it 85% of the time), he bites his nails off and picks his teeth with the clippings (incredibly gross), will strip down to his boxers anywhere and leave his clothes where he stripped, and borderline excessive farting...what is it with men and farting?

@MrsH1010-- My FI does that super sick and very strange finger nail-clipping/teeth cleaning thing too. He actually does it in a restaurant after we eat dinner. Just bites off a nail and uses it to clean his teeth!! What IS that?!? So gross.

My FI is diabetic and when he tests his blood sugar he takes the little cap of the needle pricker thing then I find them all over the place. He puts the needles in a Sharps container so why he cannot put the little caps in there or the trash is beyond me. They are like little lego pieces and hurt so bad when I step on them!

Also when he says he is ready to leave the house he still has like 5 other things to do first and I wind up waiting by the door for 5 minutes....annoying!

Mine says "anyways" instead of "anyway." I am a grammar Nazi, so it has been a small personal triumph for me not to correct him on this, as it is probably unnecessary nit-picking and I can live with it. But I cringe sometimes when I hear it.

@MrsH1010 and NatDawn-- my FI does the nail thing too. It is seriously the most disgusting habit! Sure, there are many things that he does that irk me on a daily basis (with love comes major annoyance too!), but that is the only one that truly makes my stomach turn. Biting off nails and cleaning his teeth? Can you get more gross? And btw-- is that supposed to make us WANT to kiss them? I don't think so. On the other hand, my FI has a dental pick that he's obsessed with, and I pretty much hate that too. I wish he would just be normal and floss already!
