So for whatever reason, Mr. Baldwin does not like most of my baby girl names for if we have a girl in the future. We are still working on boy names ( Seems that is much easier). I am torn because I love these names and he will not compromise. Are these names really that bad? Please let me know.
Nevaeh (heaven backwords-he says its ghetto lol)
He agrees to: (He loves names after places/locations)

I don’t like any of those names, especially Nevaeh.

i think these are pretty….trendy and a bit off. but i prefer classic names, and names that lend themselves to a variety of situations. a court justice named ‘skylee’ would be interesting!
i don’t mean to be rude – i do like ava and emerie!

Yeah, no offence, but the names he likes are lot better. The only one of yours that I like is Ava.
No offense taken. I need honest opinions. My favorites are Ava and Emerie.
Honestly I hate all of them. Sorry I like more classic names.

@atoney86: Emerie is like Emery board… what you file your nails with. Although I like the name Ava, my friend lost a baby at 39 weeks and that was her name so it is forever taken in my eyes.

I am kind of with you husband on this one – I like all of thr names he likes but I am really not a fan of the ones you really like. I wouldn’t worry about it now though if you’re not even pregnant. Your ideas and taste may change once you really picture attaching a name to a peraon.

Besides Ava, I hate them.
They are all too cutesy for my liking.
Emerie-makes me think of emery boards for your nails, but with poor spelling.
Skylee-not a name, and certainly not a professional name.
Ivory-Elephant tusks, and again not a name.
Nevaeh-It’s the kind of name you think it cute when you are 16 and pregnant. Makes me think of Heaven Leigh Casteel from VC Andrews books.
They are all very trendy, and very young. I personally like names that pass the presidental test. Would you vote for someone for president that was called XXXXXXXX? None of those names pass the test, IMO.
But all that matters is that you and your husband like it.

I think Ava is a classic name.

You have non-conventional taste for sure, (Although, Ava is a pretty mainstream name at the moment) so be prepared to compromise.
Maybe have him make an extensive list of names he likes, and see if you like any on it. Then make an extensive list of names that you like and see if there is a single one that he likes.
My fiance and I had pretty different name taste as well, and this worked for us 🙂 And Horray! We both LOVE the names we have picked out, even though they are not names that I think either of us would have selected completely on our own. (though we are not having any babies any time soon…)

I prefer his names. But really this is the classic definitely of compromise. There is a namme out there that you both like. It probably won’t be either of your favorites. But it’s out there.

LOL! I understand what you are saying. Once my FI makes up his mind, that’s pretty much it. I just needed some other opinions that’s not family (seems they liked my names). I definitely do not want my daughter to be teased growing up.
Most likely we will be using his names. Hopefully I can get Ava. That name is just so beautiful. Only reason he does not want it is because his a guy he is no longer friends with daughters name is Ava.

Don’t get me wrong, I love:
I just wanted to know what were wrong with the ones he hates. Yes, they are very non-traditional. Everyone has great points as well. That’s why I love the bee, you ladies are honest. Family tells me what I want to hear.
