This is FI (and my niece) a couple weeks ago:
He usually wears his hair like this, pretty short. He’s decided that he’d like to do something different with his hair, so he’s going to grow it out a bit so there’s more to work with, but he doesn’t know what to do with it. He asked for me to think of something, so I come to y’all for advice and opinions.
This is his hair as long as he usually lets it get before cutting it, taken this May:
And this is a very bad photo of him around the time we first met, 2006-ish?, the longest his hair’s ever been:
While I love long hair, it doesn’t suit him very well, at least not shoulder length long. He doesn’t want it long enough to be curly, but what I think he means is when it’s really long, it does that thing where the top is straight, but then becomes curly at the bottom. As you can see from the second pic, any length and it gets curly.
So, please share pics or suggestions of hairstyles that may look nice. We’re both clueless in that regard.

classic side part, no fade.

@Duncan: Your comment surprised me more than it should have. I just hadn’t realized that in the 8 years that I’ve known him, he’s never had a side part. I think the only time his hair’s ever parted was back when it was really long and that was down the middle. It’s a very classic look. I’m definitely going to suggest it.

i think he could pull something like this off then if he needs to look more clean cut he can go for that side sweap look thats been made hot by mad men (my fi does that cuz his mom loves it and it makes him look really sexy and in charge) also you can style it up and fun even edgy if he wanted to or let it be a lil mess with some of the natural curl it has alot of possible styling options
that kinda side sweap look i was talking bout
i picked that one (and the other 2) cuz he has some curl to his hair so all 3 of those would work with that

I was going to say a side part for sure! And maybe even some lying over the forehead…
I even think this guy looks kinda similar…

Check out Chris Pine, minus the beard. His actual hair style, or his Kirk hair.
