I’ve been having a stressful couple of days and the icing on the cake was when my venue coordinator emailed to tell me that they have raised the cost of food by $2/person. Our contract states that no price increases can be made within 90 days of our date and she managed to get that message to me 98 days out.
It really would only amount to $240ish but that money means more to me (it would pay for our cake, invites, etc.) than it could possibly mean to the venue and the Board of Directors that issued the price increase. Not to mention, I’ve been working very carefully to adhere to a budget and I’ve had my heart set on everything we’ve planned that it would just be upsetting to have to give something up to remain in budget simply because the Board of Directors is feeling a bit greedy. ($2 per person! really? I picture a bunch of old men smoking pipes and laughing about all the brides they are driving insane).
FI knows how stressed I’ve been lately, so he offered to handle this issue and told me not to worry about it.
Well he just let me know that he spoke to our coordinator and we’re still going to pay $2/person more for the food but he talked the price of our chairs down from $6/person to $3! Crisis averted!
I’m just so happy to be marrying this man. He never ceases to amaze me, but this small gesture of taking over a stressful situation to ease my burden means so much more than he could possibly know.
Now it’s your turn! I want to hear some bragging rights about how awesome your FI/DH/BF/GF is 🙂

My husband has been serving me breakfast in bed daily since week 6 of my pregnancy (to curb nausea) and he does all the cooking. He runs to the store for anything I need. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive partner.

@oldmatron: That’s amazing! Definitely a lucky wife 🙂 It’s seriously the simplest, kindest acts that mean the most isn’t it?

@sparklerunner: That’s awesome. It’s something my FH would try to do for me too.
My FH writes piano music for me. He’s been doing this for 4 years but only recently has he started letting me hear them. He’s very shy :). I told him he should send all his sheet music to get published but he says it’s just for us and nobody else.

Um. He works at a pastry baking factory and he keeps bringing me home yummy donuts, muffins, and cakes.
Dont know if I feel like thanking him though, cause I think I’ve gained 2lbs this week. XD

@sparklerunner: It’s like something out of a rom-com! I’m not actually one for romance and neither is he, but I think I just inspire him. Like a muse. At least now I know what he’s doing when he closes the door to the piano room 🙂

This is so silly, but hubs leaves for work at 4:30am when i am still fast asleep, it’s nearly summertime here so the birds are starting earlier and earlier, this morning there was a really noisy bird right outside the window that he obvisouly heard so when he came and kissed me goodbye (always a very light kiss on the forehead as he doesn’t want to wake me) he very quietly closed all the windows in the bedroom so it wouldn’t wake me up. It’s the little things!
