Well…technically his cousins, but they are more like his sisters. They grew up together and they are imporant to him so I want to include them in my wedding party.
SO, my question is, how did yall ask your FI sisters to be bridemaids? We arent extremely close, but I still want to ask them in a special way. I will probably do it at thanksgiving.

Its nice that you want to include fi’s cousins in your ceremony. I’m sure it will be a Thanksgiving to remember! I bought my BM’s necklaces with a card that read “will you be our bridesmaid?”

I asked my fiance’s sister to be one of my bridesmaids. We aren’t best friends and we don’t hang out a lot, but it was still important to me for her to be a part of our day. She is only a few younger than FI, but I can tell she really looks up to him. She was also there for me at the very beginning of our engagement to gush about girly wedding stuff.
I just printed out “Wil you be my bridesmaid?” on photopaper in a fun font and one of our wedding colors. It also had what was going to be our flower on it. (we’ve since changed to a beach wedding so we aren’t using sunflowers anymore!) Under the question I hand wrote her a note telling her that I love FI’s family so much and I’m excited that I will be getting another sister and that I would love for her to stand up with us on our happy day!
It was really simple but very meaningful!
There is also this short poem I included with it…yes, it’s corny -but it’s really true because I am super close to his family! I don’t know who wrote it, but here it is…
“The day of the wedding our families will blend, you’ll be my sister and also my friend.
It’s so very special to know you will be, a part of this day a bridesmaid for me.
I wish I had words that could be expressed, to show just how much I have been blessed.
It’s just the beginning of our brand new life,as your brother and I become man and wife.
I’m grateful I’ve found the man of my dreams, and even more blessed with the family this brings.”

Thanks! I love how easy it was 🙂 I did this for all 6 of my bridesmaids. On each one I just wrote about why they are special to me. They loved the personalization of it all! But if you use photopaper -a thin sharpie works best!!

If you are going to be having Thanksgiving dinner with them why not buy a cute little decoration for each person at the table and attach a tag that says why you are grateful to have them in your life. Attach a special tag asking the cousins to be your maids.
