I want to label the tables cheap as possible and keep it with our Midsummer Nights Dream theme.
Heres our centerpieces:
Also how would I assign tables? Name cards? Do you just set them out on a table? I am very lost on seating since every wedding I’ve ever been to didn’t do this and up until today I didn’t plan to do this either…

@HappilyEverAfter54: I bought 50 cent little wood book stands, ya know the kind that fold out and hold the pages back,at the craft store and then placed my cards that I matted with other colored paper onto it. The whole project cost me less than $20 and I also had to print a picture for each one.
It was much less expensive then using frames.

1.You could use the names of characters from the play such as the fairy king Oberon, the fairy queen Titania, and the human lovers Lysander, Hermia, Helena, and Demetrius .”The Lovers,” “The Prankster,” “Midsummer Magic,” “Enchantment,” etc. The Bride and Groom’s table could be “The Duke and Duchess of Athens.”
another list of characters
For the signs themselves, if you are near an IKEA they sell Tolsby frames 2/$1.99. You can leave them as is or spray paint them the color of your choice. If you leave the plastic cover in place it will protect the center area, then you can place the paper on which you have printed the table names.
2.You could use quotations from the play:
escort cards could be simple blank cards you buy at the stationers, then stamp with a dragonfly stamp
you could place them on trays of wheatgrass or moss

For the table names/numbers themselves, I’m just taking a piece of cardstock, photocopying a fancy number (well, actually, we’re doing first letter of last name of famous composers, and putting a description below for the table number, but you get it,) and folding it in half (hamburger half,) and just letting it be a tent!
For the escort cards, I got cheap folded (tent) business cards from vistaprint, and had them print:
on each one, and I’m just handwriting their name and table.

What are you doing for favors? I’ve seen people using the favors as escort cards and I think this can work well.
Table numbers/names can be pretty easy and cheap. Try your local dollar store. They actually sometimes have nice frames. You can get scrapbook or other pretty paper from Michael’s or other craft stores for really cheap. And just print the name/number directly on it or another sheet of paper. Glue it and place it in the frame. You’re done!

@mwitter80: affordable and sounds cute! Thanks for the idea.
@julies1949: I love the idea of using the names because I have this which I can set somewhere close by (for a visual)
@red_rose: I’ll definitely just use folded paper for the cards and set them on moss… I’ll do some cute calligraphy or something!
@RayRayFurious: The dollar store frames are a cool idea for the table names! I don’t think were really doing favors… we’ll have a dessert/candy table with little mesh bags where people can “take some for the road” if they want =)

What about hanging something from the branches? I think that would be cute, and then it wouldn’t get lost in the tablescape.
You could put some up on all sides.
