My FI is an artist who works with old paints and was told titanium is a good option as it is hard wearing and cheap. This might also be good for you although I’m not sure how easy it is to cut off if needed

Hozzelbear:  Is there a reason you haven’t looked at gold? I picked out a 10k white gold band for the hubby. 10k is harder than 14k which is why we chose it for his band, and mine as well. We wanted something that was durable. Also, it’s much cheaper than 14k. I think I got his band for under $200!

That said, he never wears it. He works with his hands, so it sits on a ring holder in the kitchen. He only wears it when we are at a special event or something.

Hozzelbear:  Yes, white gold would eventually need to be redipped. Since my hubby doesn’t wear it, we’ve never had to do it on his band in the 5 yrs we’ve been married (mine on the other hand get re dipped every 6 mos to a year!) something to think about if your FI doesn’t plan on wearing it much. Mine is a half eternity and I insisted on 10k.

You are not wrong to want them to match. They don’t have to, but it does look nice! And if your jeweler doesn’t listen to you, you can always get his ring online (I did).

I am not married yet but I will be getting Him a tugsten ring, he will probably only wear it while not working. He also plans to have his wedding band tattooed so it’s not a big concern for me.

Why not think about having two rings? A white gold or similar “posh” ring and a cheaper one for daily use, like stainless steel? Not overly romantic but cheaper and practical and he could still have the symbol without risking the expensive ring 🙂

Hozzelbear:  My fiancé and I will have different tone wedding rings. Mine will most likely be 18K white gold (to match my white gold engagement ring) and he’ll have a yellow gold one (to match his yellow gold signet ring). However, if you want your rings to be of a similar tone, that’s fine too.

Hozzelbear:  I’m with Leonidas. Read the reviews and you should be able to find a quality seller! I purchased most of my wedding items from etsy, including a handmade italian lace mantilla veil, with no problems 🙂
