Honestly, as long as he saved it and didn’t take the money out of the wedding fund, I’d be appreciative and just enjoy it.

@cestvrai:  I’d just relax and enjoy the fact that FI couldn’t stand not to go all out for you and show he cares.

@cestvrai:  The money is spent and the gesture was sweet. As long as this didn’t come out of the wedding fund- if your fiance just wanted to spoil you out of his own fun money- let him have that, and bask in the knowledge that he wanted so much to make you happy.

Is this an isolated incident or part of a larger trend? It’s sweet that he treated you and if it’s just this one time, enjoy it!  But if he’s a spender and you’re a saver maybe you need to sit down and plan out your  financial goals. It’s frustrating when youre pulling in different directions.

@canadajane:  +1 very good point. I didn’t take trends into consideration with my previous post

The same thing happened to me our first vday! We decided to chill out and not exchange gifts and what happened? I got rose gold Tiffany earrings!!! I was surprised but felt bad bc I stuck to the deal and literally didn’t buy anything … Oh well. Not earth shattering. I say enjoy 🙂 may I ask which necklace your fi picked out?

@cestvrai:  That is such a pretty necklace! Stop over-analyzing and enjoy that you got to be spoiled on Vday 🙂
