I haven't, but my fiance has! Apparantly it got pretty ugly - yikes!
Yeah, a cousin's wedding...let's just say a very large Samoan man had to be escorted out, it got pretty ugly.
Yes, but lets just say it wasn't the classiest affair (by design I think?) so it wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wow. I haven't seen that before. But we did get pissy at my xh's sister when we got married..she refused the hair and makeup artist I had paid for her and for no good reason, looked as if she had woken up, taken a shower, walked out of said shower and put on bridesmaid dress though. My sister yelled at her. That was as wild as things got. And I'd also bought her dress for her too. Everybody else bought their own bm dress.
I haven't personally been a guest at a "fight" wedding...but at a hotel I worked at, one Friday night when I was the manager on duty, the groom got into a fight with another guest, the bride then joined in...and we had to call the cops...it was really bad and in our front lobby not even in the ballroom out of sight of other guest.
Yup. An uninvited aunt on the groom's side (invite got lost in the mail and she showed up anyway), and the innocent bride that she blamed.
It was ugly.
Unfortunately, yes. My good friend (the bride) invited an ex-boyfriend and he brought a new girlfriend that many in attendance weren't very fond of. The brides' little brother (who was 16 at the time) had too much to drink and ended up getting in a fight with the ex-boyfriend over the new girlfriend.
It was awful - I had blood all over my bridesmaids dress (because I caught the little brother as he was knocked to the ground) and the bride ended up with blood on her dress and in tears. Needless to say, the fight ended the receoption. Really sad.
We saw one at a friend's wedding. The bridesmaids and some family members were upset with the groomsmen for getting the groom drunk and high. The groom suffers from some social disorder and took medicince that they then mixed with alcohol. They all ended up yelling and such in the parking lot. The bride said it was supposed to be the best day of her life and then she just wanted it to be over so she could go home. Yes, sadly, she knew about the incident. (She was upset with the groom too.)
Oooh oooh--my own! But none of them were physical fights! First, my SIL and her boyfriend got in a fight right before the ceremony was supposed to start and stormed off. The ceremony started, and a second fight broke out because my sister was queuing the bridal party to start walking and wouldn't let my SIL and her boyfriend walk down the aisle partway through the procession when they finally decided to come back.
Then after the wedding I had to get seriously stern with the best man who got way too drunk at the luxury B and B we had rented for everyone for the night and was being totally disrespectful and wasted.
That being said, everything else about our wedding was so amazingly wonderful and none of these things could really overshadow our joy.
I would LOOOSE it if a fight broke out - mind you I made sure to not invite the people I KNEW who were capable of such drama (yeah, the same people who started a fight with family the night before my grandmothers funeral...so why would a wedding stop them) sigh
Oh yes! It was the very end of the wedding and someone from the grooms side hit on the wife of someone from the bride side. It was quick and to the point ... a few punches were thrown but they were too drunk to really do anything! I still shake my head and laugh about that and that was 20 years ago!
My FI was at his mothers best friend's sons wedding & although there wasn't a physical fight, FI's moms friend started yelling & screaming at her son, she disowned him on the spot & was dragged out of the wedding by her husband...wow!

A friend was telling me about a fight that broke out at a wedding she recently attended. She didn't know the circumstances but it sounded like it was quite a brawl, one of the groomsmen ended up with a broken nose.
I have been to LOTS of weddings and never saw any problems.
Have YOU ever been to a wedding where a fight broke out?
