Has anyone recently honeymooned in Fiji? My fiancé and I are pretty big travelers, so we agreed on making sure we didn't go anywhere either of us have already been. I've already been around Europe, to Cancun and things like that, and he's been to Hawaii and Australia - and we didn't want to book the Caribbean in the hurricane season so we're looking to Fiji!

Does anyone have any inside information - good or bad? It would be MUCH appreciated!

ive been to alot of south pacific islands so i guess the first thing is what do you want to do when you are on your honeymoon (other than the obvious) because Fiji can pretty much can offer everything from sitting on the beach all day, cruises and scuba/adventure - just depends on what you want to do while you are there

Fiji is beautiful, but it's a heck of a long way to go. We've had couples that loved it, and couples that said they wished they had gone some place closer.

You mentioned that you've been around Europe, but have you been to the Greek Islands?? It's a great destination.

Where did you guys stay in Fiji? Overwater bungalow? Did you get massages? Coming from the states? Was food included?  What did you do while there?  Sorry for all the questions! I'm thinking of going there for my honeymoon as well.  Either there or Bora Bora...We really want to do something in the South Pacific!

I have been to Fiji. I went there on my way back from Australia and New Zealand (I studied abroad in Australia). It was cheap to add a stopover in Fiji to my flight. I flew into Nadi, stayed the night and had to take a catamaran to all the smaller islands. I purchased a 4 island stay, but you're more than welcome to jump on the catamaran (big yellow boat) and explore other islands. Or you can always book your day travels with their travel agents. The catamaran runs only two times a day, so you have to plan accordingly.

From Nadi I went to Viti Levu, Taveuni, Beachcomber (lots of teenagers looking to party), and Mamanunca for the bungalow experience. From what I remember, the Likuliku Lagoon in Mamanunca is the only island that provides over water bungalows in Fiji. But I could be wrong. I was there in 2005.

We honeymooned in Fiji and I could not recommend it more!! We stayed at Liku Liku Lagoon for 8 days... it was freaking amazzzzzing! The bungalows were awesome and the food was too die for. It was paradise!

My husband and I were in the same boat as you...we both have traveled a lot and wanted to go somewhere we had never been... here is a link to some of our honeymoon pictures if you're interested. If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

#1- You and your hubby are so stinkin cute!! #2 looks like a beautiful place! Its making me want to be on my honeymoon NOW!!!  The water looks amazing!!  When you were there besides relax did you do any type of excursions? (did they offer any) a luau or anything like that? If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost in total? I'm thinking we are prob going to end up spending around 10k on ours...was yours more than that? Incl. food and drinks?

Thanks! We went on a local village trip where we took a boat and took a tour and participated in a "kava" ceremony with the locals. We also did a private sandbar picnic where they drop you off with food and shade  and leave ya on an island for 2 hours... so fun! We snorkeled a bunch! We kayaked too. They offered a bunch of other activities such as water skiing or jet skiing or suba diving etc. We also had a kava ceremony and "local" food night at the resort where local singers came and sang traditional fijian songs... as far as price, I know we got our flights cheap i think they are were 900 a piece so 1800 of air fare and the total stay was like 9000 at the resort but I didn't see the final bill so I'm totally guessing....  Food was included in the price but drinks were not, but the drinks were cheap like 6-7 bucks for a super yummy cocktail! Beers were cheaper, wine a little more but reasonable! The activities were not included either but the prices are on their website. It was so fun!
