Off topic: wasn't your wedding a week ago?
To the question: I don't think you have to worry too much. Most receptions have a bit of a lag where the couple hasn't arrived yet. People just have a drink and mingle, it's part of the fun. Just don't leave them there for an hour or anything :)
I wouldn't worry about it too much! People will mingle and chat among themselves - no big deal!
Well we had to put everything on hold due to financial strains hence the budget we are on. Now we (actually me since guys just worry about showing up to the church) are starting to plan again but for something smaller than before. I suppose we wouldn't be too late to arrive so I guess I just wanted to do something extra to make up for no dance. Thanks for your help!

Can someone please give me some suggestions? We are planning a very simple wedding and are on a budget so we will have a church ceremony and have a late lunch at a restaurant that provides private rooms for receptions. We are not planning to have a dance except for maybe our first dance and our father/daughter dance. My concern is having some of our guests sitting at the restaurant waiting for us to arrive while we stay behind to take some photographs. I'm also concerned with it getting a little boring since there will not be any dancing. So does anyone have suggestions for keep them entertained before and during the reception?
