I went to pick up my dress yesterday after the alterations. When I put it on, it was a bit hard to zip. Once I got into it, it fit perfect- just what I wanted and I absolutely love it.
The only issue is now I am so nervous that if I gain an ounce- it won’t fit that day! I have 5 weeks to go. I am already carfeul about what I eat and work out every day, but it still worries me. Has anyone else had the same feeling? The lady who did the alterations didn’t seem to be the least bit concerned about it. I figure I will put it on again 1 week before just to make sure it still fits.
And I forgot to take a picture when I had it on! I’m so mad I forgot. I am attaching a picture I already posted from the first fitting- it is a fit and flare David’s Briday KP3135, it zips off above the knee for easy dancing at the reception which is why I wanted it the minute I saw it on Pinterest. This is with an easy bustle since I will take the bottom off once the band starts anyways.

Keep in mind that a wedding dress, like any other piece of clothing, will stretch. You want it to be as tight as it can be before the wedding, because that day it will stretch out a little bit.

I had a month to go after my last fitting and I was petrified the dress wouldnt fit, seeing as it was snug! I tried to eat and maintain my weight the same ways I was before. I probably ate too little a couple days before just to be sure everything was ok, which is not smart and I would not recommend that method.
I think you’ll be fine if you don’t overdue it!

MrsMtobe26: I love the concept of a zip-off portion to make dancing easier! Brilliant 🙂 And from what I’ve been told by friends who have gotten married, weight loss is more likely to occur in the final weeks before the wedding rather than weight gain – the stress and excitement burn through calories like champions 🙂

MrsMtobe26: My dress is very snug too! I definitely can’t gain any more weight to get into it! I have been exercising more and eating healthier, which is actually really good so I can really be my best on our wedding day. I’ve lost 2 lbs so far and that’s really about what I need to lose for it to fit well, so that’s fine! Just don’t want to gain any more weight 😉
Here’s a tip from my seamstress- put your hands on your waist and squeeze it before you put on the wedding dress, it made it much easier to get into and protected the zipper from damage!
