Right, we’re almost at the naming finish line! We’ve finally settled on Philippa and Vivian (Pip/Pippa and Vivi for short), so we now just need to settle on a middle for Pippa. All the middle names have meaning for us (Eve, Whitt, Elspeth, Rose, Eleanor, and Charlotte are all family names, for example), so at this point it’s just about flow and sound.
If it makes any difference, we’re thinking Pip is going to be quite a spunky go-getter as she’s constantly moving around and kicking! Would be good to have a name that fits that.

Phillipa Rose caught my eye first. I think it flows well. However, Phillipa Winter just sounds super cool. It’s kind of in the same vein as Gray for a middle name with Vivian. Unusual but awesome.

@UK Bride: I voted for Charlotte, Rose and Winter. But if you think she is going to be spunky I would go with winter 🙂

@UK Bride: I chose Rose coz I love a 1 syllable name following the longer 3 syllable name, and it gives the girls great symmetry (stress pattern even matches!) without being “matchy” (although I guess you could argue that both middle names are colours…).
But I might be a little biased, because we’re using Rose as a middle name after hubby’s mum, Nan and great-Nan 🙂
Beautiful names whatever you choose!

I love Whitt, so unusual. Where’s it from? I also love Winter.

Philippa Eve, think the longer first name and short second name helps the flow

@Soon2BD-CBee: It’s my great grandmother’s maiden name. Other relatives have used it as Whitney, but honestly I prefer the original!

@UK Bride: I totally love Whitt. I would pick that for Pippa.

I like single syllable middle names – Jane, Anne, Rae– so I voted “Rose”!

I voted Philippa Rose but I also love Philippa Eve – I think with such a long pretty first name the one-syllable middle names sound best! I also said them in my head using “Pippa” rather than “Philippa” and I still liked those two best.

I like Philippa Winter the best personally because it’s different and frankly quite interesting. Philippa Rose flows very nicely as well. While I like Philippa Whit as well, there is potential for weird playground nick names like Pip Whit/nitwit…

@UK Bride: Bassed on your feeling about the girls, Pippa Whitt just rolls off the tongue in a spunky way! Love it!

I love the name Phillipa Eve. It flows perfectly, and is very pretty.

I like phiippa rose… love Charlotte Rose it popped out when I looked at the list of names.

I like Pippa Charlotte or Pippa Rose!
