Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Forgive me for making a third freaking thread about my wedding band, I just cannot stop heming/hawing/googling/pinteresting about it. I am usually SO decisive but for whatever reason I am very hung up on making the “right” decision and keep going back and forth and have been unable to commit to my original front runner (the RG). For the next ten years or so, this is it in the marital ring dept. so I want to love it (and love it in 10 years/forever too).
I told my FI this, and as we were passing our jewelry spot he said we should go in for another try-on round to hopefully clarify. The lady was nice and patient and suggested I take pics (if you’re going to twist my arm, fine).
So with out further ado my final rings in the running. Both are sparkly as can be.
Platinum bead set band:
Rose gold Novo:
Some other things to consider: Ering is platinum, you’re not “supposed” to mix gold and platinum, though I’m sure it’s not as big of a deal as its made out to be (or is it?). My FI much prefers the platinum, he said it looked “more mature” (what? Okay noted).

MrsBuesleBee: Both of them are gorgeous. And both look beautiful with your ERing. (Although your ring is so amazing that it would be hard for a band to not look beautiful with it!)
I like the rose gold one just a little bit more. To me, it gives a little bit of extra “pop” to your set and makes your solitaire stand out even a little bit more from the wedding band. I am actually not sure if this makes any sense at all … :/
I’ve been wondering more and more about how bad it is to mix metals. My ring is platinum, too, and I’ve been debating over what I want as a “permanent” band/stack to wear with it. Stack-wise, I’ve decided I really want a rose gold bezel set band, but now I’m waffling a little bit because I keep wondering if I will make a huge mistake by putting gold next to platinum. *sigh*
Argh! It shouldn’t be so hard! Just give us aaaaaaaaall the pretty rings, universe! LOL

Love the platinum. Ugh jealous. Lol amazing!!

Even though I’m a huge sucker for rose gold, I think the platinum band goes with your e-ring better. Those two together have a more polished and uniform look. They’re both lovely, though, and I think ultimately you couldn’t go wrong with either.

Guess I am a tad less mature… I like the rose gold! 🙂

I am going to surprise even myself and say the rose gold. I think it’s beautiful and can be worn as a stand alone ring and I think it compliments your engagement ring without taking any of the spotlight. I don’t usually like mixed metals. Maybe the bee is opening my eyes! 🙂
to add….I certainly don’t think you could go wrong with either choice. Does it matter to you which one you like better as a stand alone ring?

longtimemrs: thanks for your thoughts and commiseration haha! I do know just what you mean- the rose gold sort of blends in with my skin so it’s like a dainty little sparkle frame to the ering show (which was why I liked it) and the platinum is more of a “unified front” visually.
i also feel you on the will the platinum wear at my band over the years issue… So maybe a 1mm rose gold spacer band would be neccessary..but is that just pandemonium!?!?? Will I change my mind about mixed metals!? I could always get the platinum for the official wedding band and later buy a (less expensive then the Novo) RG ring from etsy or something to switch it up when I’m feeling wild (lol).

MrsBuesleBee: I voted for the bead set because I think it is so classic and pretty! What about the novo in platinum?
Yeah…what she said ^^^^. What about the novo in platinum?

Yipeebee: thank you- I want jewelry store lighting installed in our home.
Elliebun: thanks for your thoughts!
majorairhead: haha me too- men making jewelry commentary is pretty funny.
alabamagirl: yes the bee did that to me too! I told my coworkers I was thinking RG and they were like… What? Why? I don’t actually think I’ve seen it in real life but I do love RG too- I have a cheapy plated ring but would love a solid one.
I should have taken pics with just the bands. Both were pretty, the platinum looked more substantial as the RG blends in a bit. I will wear my ering too most the time though.

I’m a RG fan and would normally pick it over a white metal, but I like the platinum band better with your ering.

I like the style of the rose gold better, but I’d get it in platinum or white gold.

prettyinpink11: alabamagirl: the platinum novo looked so slight and tiny, it blended in with the ering too much. Didn’t like it. Which is odd now that you mention it haha.

To my taste, the rose gold band looks amazing! Love rg!! I’ve changed my platinum set for a rose gold set because I enjoy it’s warmth way more than platinum 😉

MrsBuesleBee: hmm I can see that. I guess my vote still stands for the bead set. You can always get a rose gold spacer 😉
