@cinemaparadiso-- didn't see your comment until just now! Unfortunately, the wedding won't be in the mountains (my profile pic is from our trip to Colorado, but we live in MA), but the reception is in a goooooorgeous rural area that reminds us a bit of Vermont.

Thanks, everyone! I actually found an email generated from one of those "Create Your Own Engagment Ring" sites from 2006, and my ring looks exactly like that one. Just what I've wanted for years :)

Can't wait to see pics!
After snooping around on the 'Bee blog and boards (I've been reading the blog for over a year now), I can finally say I'M ENGAGED!!!
The FI (aieeeeee!!!!!) and I have been together almost 5.5 years, and now we're finally getting married! He asked me on Saturday in the Green Mountains of VT while the sun was setting and the leaves on the trees in the mountains looked like they were on fire. He asked me with my great-grandmother's ring, which we're having a stone re-set for my own ring.
And after all the screeching and crying and generally trying to get over the shock of it, he told me he knew I'd be off and telling all my "Internet friends" as soon as I got a chance.
So, Internet friends, I'm getting married! Thought you all might want to know ;)
