Well I have been a long time lurker here on the boards for years. My FI finally proposed last year. This weekend will actually be our one year anniversary of being engaged. I finally got the guts to post here. I must say I love coming on here and seeing all of your beautiful dresses and weddings. It has always given me hope that maybe one day it will be my turn. Now of course for the ring pictures. Sorry if they are blurry I took them with my crappy cell phone camera.
My proposal story:
We already ad our tree up because for bot of us our favorite holiday is Christmas. I had come home in a horrible mood because work was annoying (as it always is on Fridays
) to make it worse it was Black Friday and my office is located in a very large chain store.
We were supposed to go out to dinner that night with a few friends but they canceled last minute. I didn't mind because I enjoy spending alone time with my huney.
Well when I got home he pulled me aside and said "Hey babe? I think something is wrong with the tree? Can you come over and take a look?" I sighed heavily, thinking great another thing going wrong today. I just want to shower put on some comfy pants and sit on the couc with a big mug of coccoa.. Well I was looking around thhe tree adjusting a fee oraments and a few branches for about 10 minutes. He just kept standing back and saying nope that's not it... Something is just off with it. At that point I got frustrated and just said ok... Can we play hot and cold with the tree? So I started running my hand over the tree and asked if I was hot or cold. Eventually, put my hand over our new spongebob ornament (FI loves Spongebob :-)) and on top of the ornament sat my beautiful ring...
Of course I started crying. I just sort of looked back at him and sad "Wait... Are you serious?" He didn't say anything just sort of smiled and put out his arms. I ran into him. Luckily our couch was right behind him because I sort of tackled him :-)
So finally after 5 years of datng and 3 years of being best friends now we will finally be able to plan our wedding and I can't wait
