Reception Area
It was not cleaned out as it does not get used in the winter months. But
Ok, so.. I had my own centerpiece crisis earlier this week! And here's what I found - Mrs Corn did something really cool with dune grass and sand (I guess she had a beach wedding!) but you can use different "ingredients" and get the same effect. Here's the link to her centerpieces http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/07/18/centerpieces-7/. You can get different kinds of grass at the place Nettleton Hollow she talks about (just google it). Maybe use some twisted willow, and of course you don't have to use the candles. I'm using a tall grass and twisted willow in 9" cylinder vases, and instead of sand in the bottom, I am using dried peas (I know it sounds weird, but another bee used it in her centerpieces and it looks great! but unfortunately I didn't save that link!!). But you can play around with it a lot. If I ever get around to taking a picture of what I've done I'll try to send it to you! Hopefully this helps. Good luck!
Sorry - don't think that link works - try this http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/07/18/centerpieces-7/
Thats nice but I dunno how i could make something like that work for a long table.. I been told i need shorter arrangments that are longer for a rectangle table
crebre ... those are similar to the ideas i had before actually the second one is exactly what i was goin to do.....
Now I cant use candles though and Im just all bahumbug about it & dont know what to do lol
Ooh, I think you could spray adhesive or hot glue the petals to the aisle runner... that would make cleanup soooo easy!
Also, what about battery operated candles? we're thinking about using those b/c we can't use candles.
What about plants or herbs? It would go with the barn theme...
I have read from ppl WB & the internet everyone says hot glue, sewing or spray adhesive... but ... No one really ever comments on how it turns out or has a picture so it is not seeming promising.
How are you using your battery operated candles? I know but they just dont really look as nice unless you camo them somehow
Well I would like to bring in some natural aspects ... but I still want to be able to tie in our purple flowers we are using.
I have always wanted to use purples and lime green but have not really figured out how to tie it into our wedding yet. Other than Lime Centerpieces.

So after all the changes of loosing our venue & all the stress we found our venue. It came in way under budget. We loved the pictures we saw of the other weddings here. It is conviently located about 5 mins from our house. It is a great compromise to wanting our Ceremony & Recepetion outside as it is protected from the rain(unless it comes a monsoon lol) but still open and airy for a summer evening. It is big enough that if it does rain we could have both our reception and ceremony inside the Pavillion.
We did have to change our date to Sunday July 25th... but it still all works out bc our photographers didnt mind to switch & we were leaving monday morning on our honeymoon anyways.
We plan to have our ceremony infront of those 2 trees overlooking the pond.
My issues are... everything i have bought so far has been candles & silk rose petals. My tables were going to be long lines of lots of a petal runner with tons of votive candles. I was also going to Line the Sides of my aisle with rose petals... at the first place we had to use silk (due to staining) Well so now i have 10,000 rose petals and around 100 votive candles that i cant use :(... we can use silk but not outside unless someone wants to make sure they all get picked up.
Fiance suggested attaching them to an aisle runner on each side... Would this work? Anyone seen this done?
So anyways my colors are purple all shades of bright and spring like purples. NO CANDLES ... i know i dont want a vase of flowers.... I have a bunch of silk flowers that are mainly roses and other small flowers that I was going to use on my archway, in my bouquets and such.
I need new table decor that doesnt involve alot of flowers , NO CANDLES... could maybe still use some of what i got and would work on long tables.
I would love any suggestions you could give :)
Here are some pictures
