I haven't turned on the heat yet, well I turned on the fire place once or twice but thats it. We live in an apartment though so it is hot all year long. The burning smell is normal for those electric radiators.
I had mine on the week it snowed (the week of Halloween) and then it went back up into the 60's and we turned it back off... we probably won't have to turn it back on till around thanksgiving.
We haven't turned the heat on yet but it's still in the 70s here. I'm getting ready for it to cool off though, warm Thanksgivings are weird.
@Genuine513: Good to know about the smell. That stinks though! :) I would love to have a fireplace. Next time. Next place we live, I hope to have a wood-burning. I love seeing DH chop wood. :)
@Mrs.Estep: Thanks! It was REALLY hard not too, but tonight it is just too much. I also switched to a down jacket today. Last night and today were our first snow, technically. It felt like Christmas being downtown with it all wet and cold last night.
@HappilyEverAfter54: Wow, the 60s?! Lucky you! It is frigid here now. I had to walk to school today with the snow and wind in my face. I showed up freezing and sweating. It was the pits.
@Miss Sorbet: That would be weird. The 70s, that is crazy. I am kind of glad it got cold because it feel like the holiday season...
Haven't broke down yet.,...But I am under a comforter. Trying to wait it out as long as possible!
I can't complain though. We have had beautiful weather lately! Highs of 15 celcius! But as I say that we are getting rain-snow showers tomorrow.
@linz09: Haha. Nice. I was doing that a lot lately- getting under a comforter. We just moved and we haven't gotten a couch yet, so to do that I have to get in bed... when I got really cold though, I would get in the shower or get in bed with my dog for free heat!
I waited!! And I turn it off during the day lol. I have to turn it on tonight, though, because there's a freeze warning.
I started using a space heater in my bedroom a couple nights ago but haven't used my actual heater yet.
BUT - I live in San Diego, so I'm not sure I count.

Pretty good, huh?
I think this is a record. It is just SO cold sitting here, I had to turn the heater on. The only problem? It smells like nasty burning. It is a weird electric heater/ radiator on the wall...
Anyone else make it super long before heatin' up?
