I just wanted to post this to really give some encouragement to the beehive.
I started looking at homes on 11/4/2012. I have made 15 offers, been under contract 4 times, waited on a short sale for 3 months. I posted about some of it here and here.
After realizing that the short sale wasn’t going anywhere I decided to start looking again. I saw a house in my ideal neighborhood. It was over my budget but I took a chance and put in an offer lower than listing and asked for closing cost. Something I never did before. I sent the listing agent an email pretty much explaining my home buying process. My offer was accepted. I was in a constant state of panic just waiting for everything to fall apart all over again but at the same time trying to be positive. I was an emotional wreck.
I closed last week but did not get the keys at the closing table. Even after that I couldn’t relax. I finally recieved by final confirmation that this beautiful home is MINE!!!!!!. And to top it off, DH and I were married on 12/4, We closed on 12/13 and i’m hoping for a promotion offer this month.
2013 was a great year and I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings.
Thanks to the wonderful bees who offered encouragement and posted thier own journeys.

I completely understand the emotions. Going through home buying hell helps you appreciate your home in a deeper way when it’s finally yours. Congrats!

I can’t imagine doing this home buying search for another year! We started looking in October, have put in 1 offer so far that was rejected. The market here wlll be painfully slow until after the holidays. But we will keep on looking! Congratulations on finding your place! I am sure the feeling must be so exciting!!!!
