Tell you what, wedding planning is not as fun as I thought it would be. The first 6 months were great! We booked a venue, I chose my dress, bought my accessories and lingerie, booked the celebrant, photographer and cake maker… it was all fun and no stress. The 6 months following were wedding hell. Multiple issues with locations and vendors, cancellation of the original locations and rebooking of an entirely new site, family drama, financial drama, health issues blah blah blah
Almost a year since getting engaged and just under 4 months to go, I am finally catching a break! Tomorrow I am going down to Margaret River with my Maid/Matron of Honor to meet with our decorator and on Sunday Fiance and I are going to Myer to do our registry (most exciting part of the weekend), then we will order our wedding rings and pick up the paper for our invitations… yay!
Bout time I got to do something enjoyable for this wedding!

Yeah- sounds like you deserve some wedding fun! Is Fiance on board with registering? Mine wasn’t too thrilled (“you have forks, why do we need *new* ones?”), but I gave him the scanner, so at least he had some fun zapping things! 🙂

@rebwana: it took a bit to convince him… until his grandparents announced they bought us a set of bed sheets that a) we seriously dont need as we have 6 sets already and have NO extra space in the linen cupboard and b) were the wrong size for our bed! He quickly understood why a registry makes sense!
I only plan on scanning things that we either dont already have or that desperately need replacing. I simply dont have room for things that I already have and I have spent a lot of money on the existing appliances and I dont want to have to sell my unwanted wedding gifts

Yay! Registering is fun! We are at Myer too. Tip: Don’t do it all in one go. I’ve been once Fiance, added some more on with a girlfriend, and this week I’m on annual leave, so I’m going alone to add the stuff Fiance doesn’t care about. And to remove the NERF guns Fiance scanned onto the registry when I wasn’t looking.
