After about 5 years of putting myself down and thinking nope, I’m not good enough. I’m finally going after my dream and finishing my first book. I’m keeping my regular job as well, but writing on the side. I had two of my customers come in and tell me to go for it which I’ll say helped. And both of them, who own their own successful businesses, told me to do what I love and the money will follow. Hopefully they are right because I’d love to do this full time if possible. Has anyone else done this? Made your dream job a reality, even if it is/was something part time on the side?

@Tarheelgurl: Yaay! Good luck! What are you writing about? I would love to do something with plants for a living (nursery, florist, etc) because I can spend hours a day gardening…but I’m afraid making it my career would ruin it for me and take all the fun out of it lol (I’m paranoid.)

@Tarheelgurl: that’s so amazing, my friend always says “life is not a dress rehersal, find what you love and go for it”. I haven’t found a passion in my life yet, but I’m 23 and life is just starting for me. I’m enjoying my time in college and becoming better at facing challenges by not running away. I admire people who go for what they love because it inspires to me keep being positive and know there is something out there for me, I just have to stay positive.

@sheepandbear: I’m writing a fantasy novel. I’ve always been a daydreamer and still am. So it comes so natural to me to write down stories. They just play out in my head like a movie all day. Script and all, haha. So I just need to write them down. If you think you’d love it, I think you should give it a try. I just worked 50+ hours this week and came home and wrote for like 2 hours straight every night. And I found writing to be way better than being at work. Even the marketing stuff I’m trying to do before my book comes out in a few months, was better than my regular job.

Go for it, and best of luck!
And if it’s a trashy romance novel, I can’t wait to read it some day!
