Early pregnancy is so tough. You really just have to white-knuckle through it. I found it helpful to give myself some mantras (suggested by another Bee) like, “today, I am pregnant and I love my baby.” It’s scary not knowing how things are going, but the sad truth is that there really isn’t anything you can do but wait and see.

I wouldn’t worry about Rh incompatibility – I’m pretty sure the fetus doesn’t develop Rh factors until eight weeks – but if you’re negative and your husband is positive, you might want to mention that to the doctor in case they want to give you a Rhogam shot.

Good luck! I hope December 5th comes quickly for you.

Rh incompatablilty would not occur until a second un-treated pregnancy. If you are Rh neg and your baby is positive, and the blood mixed, then your body would form antibodies. Then the next time you were pregnant, and was untreated (rhogam), and you had maternal-fetal blood mixing, then you would have the iso immunization reaction.

so, unless you were preg before, with an rh pos fetus, and had blood mixing, you have nothing to worry about there.

I know it’s hard not to worry about spotting. But, what you’re describing is very small, and the fact that it’s not bright red blood is very reassuring.

I love the mantra thing. Pregnancy is such a difficult thing, because it can be unpredictable and you have very little control over how things go. Usually the body gets it right, though!

I hope everything turns out great for you. *hugs*
