Last night my sister finally talked me into getting a tattoo. It's safe to say I don't want another one. They hurt and it made me sick, but I love it!
My Grandma loved birds, and she always took my sister and I on walks. So this is what we got:
Ooh, I wish the images were back up too. Maybe later. You're very brave though. I've heard it hurts like MF. Don't know if I could sit through it myself.

congrats! (wish I could see it.... stupid not working images grr) I keep going back and forth between getting and not getting a tattoo.
It hurt a lot! I don't want to EVER do another! It made me feel so sick. lol. My sister has 6 or 7 so it was nothing for her to get another. haha. I wish it would work so you could see! I don't even know if it let me upload the picture. = (
I think tattoos are best left until AFTER the wedding. They never look good in photos!

Tattoos look amazing in wedding photos, imo. I'm getting one on my back before my wedding and plan on showing it off.

@AngelHair: Really?! a) That's just your opinion b) totally unecessary and c) you don't even know if her tattoo will show.
Anyways....I wish I could see a pic! Where is your tattoo? Just curious since you said it hurt a lot.

Can't wait to see it! I swore after my first one I'd never do it again...now I have 4... lol!

@Waterfall:. you really need to be sure before you get a tattoo. I was not sure and I am actually posting about my tattoo removal experience here.
@His Barista: when you say it made you sick did you puke? :( If so, I am sorry! I kinda liked the feeling of a tattoo....lol But removing them...not so much LOL
I want to get one one my foot but heard that's one of the most painful spots. I just want something little where no one will see it. So it literally made you sick? Like you puked? I'm sorry, was it that it hurt that bad? Where did you get it at?
@xshellx2003: I have one on my foot, and it didn't hurt near as bad as the one I had done on my wrist but it really does depend on each individual... And I remember feeling a little nauseated after I got my first tattoo. Extreme release of endorphines/nervousness maybe? After my first one I didn't feel like that again.
@xshellx2003: I was nauseaus the first night I had my foot tattoo too. For me, it was the first even slightly 'deviant' thing I did, so I think I was kind of freaking out that it was permanent (even though I planned it well in advance). It did hurt a ton, but the pain didn't make me sick. Not sure what the OP's experience was like though, of course!
Since it was my sister's idea to do a Sister tattoo, and I had never gotten one she paid for it. Luckily it took only about 10-15 minuets!
The way it made me feel when I got it is really hard to describe. Not only did it HURT but I was Dizzy and just wanted to throw up. I didn't end up doing it, but I had to send my sister to get me water a couple times. I think it will be hard to forget that and do another.

@AngelHair: I have been married since September. I didn't have it during our wedding or during my friend's wedding in December when I was a BM, not that it matters.
If others want them for the wedding, that's their choice and I'm not going to dispute it. Three of my BM's had tattoos, and I think they rocked them and they were gorgeous. = )

I likened getting my first one to being pinched over and over and over again :) Thankfully I wasn't sick but I've spent enough time in chairs seeing how it effects others in the shops. Good for you to tough it out!!

Side note: I was kind of sick and dizzy when I got my belly button pierced even though I'm sure the tattoo pain is worse and lasts longer. Maybe something to do with adrenaline?
I have several tattoos, two of which will be visable for the wedding. I think your tattoo is cute and feminine! As far as pain: I have one on my hip (which wasn't really that bad), one on my wrist (which I thought was THE worst), and my foot (Which then took the crown for the WORST pain I have ever had in my life). It's the adrenaline that can make you sick, I personally just get really shaky, but my sister threw up all over after she got the one on her foot.

@SoonToBeeMrsD: Is your hip tattoo on the very side of the hip or the front/pelvis area? I have a "side hip" tattoo (if that makes sense) and it didn't hurt too bad, but a friend of mine (who has numerous tattoos but none on her feet or wrists), said her hip hurt the most-- more than her ribcage area.
My FI and I were just saying we need to get another one soon... I want one on my shoulder so it'll be in my wedding photos... =) ((I happen to think they look AMAZING in wedding photos and so do hundreds of thousands of other people))
I took my friend to get her 1st tattoo for her 33rd birthday and she cried while it was being done... she said NEVER AGAIN and 2 months later she was asking if I'd come with her for another one... lol I agree they hurt but certain areas aren't too bad (my wrist and neck were painless and my forearms and spine were painful but not so bad... my ankle on the other hand.... ouch)
I thought my 1st would be my last as well but I went back 6 more times just that month and ended up with 5 tattoos by the end of that October. I got one more since then (3 years ago) but everytime someone talks about them I want another one soooo bad.
I can't see the photo though... wish I could =(

I have four tattoos...one on top of my foot (OUCH), lower half of my back, ribs, and inner wrist. I love all of them. My foot is a pretty flower but was pretty darn painful...and I'm usually tough as nails.
If you're thinking of getting one, PLEASE take the time to save your money and invest in a quality custom artist who will give you a truly unique piece of timeless art.
I can't wait to show off the foot tat and wrist tat in wedding pics! They're part of your personality so why would you cover them up on such a huge day!?
