I highly recommend Checkers Catering, based in Livermore. They have great prices, great food, and Monica is extremely was a pleasure to work with. I met with her and did a tasting and everything. The only reason we didn't go with them is because I was worried about the distance between Livermore and our Santa Cruz wedding (Highway 17 traffic can be unpredictable). At any rate, you should check them out.
Congrats on choosing a date and venue! And yay for the upcoming dress shopping! How exciting!!! I really hope I can settle on a date soon!
WEnt dress shopping last weekend and found my dress! 1st bridal store and 2nd or 3rd dress I tried on then I was sold. Very efficient!
Finding a caterer has been stressful since our budget for our 200 guests are low, $10,000. A lot of caterers have quoted us higher than our budget or those folks who are trying to work with us have limited food. Trying to see if this BBQ catering will be approved by our venue. Reasonable and food looks good. Waiting for our tasting! yay!
Hi there! I am also a bay area bride and happy to hear that you found your venue! My biggest struggle was finding a reasonable photographer but I finally found one. Her name is Coco and she is based out of Los Gatos she had the best rates and packages that fit my budget. If you want to check out her prices her website is martinography.com I wish you good luck in your wedding planning!
thank you! my fiance does photography on the side and we're hiring one of his partners for our wedding. great photographer and very affordable!
oh wow you are super lucky to have that available to you! Good luck with the rest of your planning!
thanks! yes i'm so glad we are a friend who is a great photographer with a reasonable price. now if we can only afford a videographer, we are still looking into that.
it's getting real oh yeaa... so many weddings happening next year and my wedding is the one that's getting planned the least amount of time. I actually prefer it! heheh

So after a month of searching and only 2 venue visits... we finally settled on doing our wedding at the GAIA Arts Center in Berkeley. It's going to be May 28, 2010 and we have less than 6 months to plan. We're excited.
We can bring any caterers so now we're in the process of looking for an affordable caterer for our 200 guests. The food isn't the expensive ones, it's the rentals! Aiyayay. Any recommendations?
Gonna go dress shopping next week so woohoo on that! Honestly, though I do want a simple, modern, chic wedding... but I'm not trying to make it complicated. I don't wanna be too picky on things because I'm more excited for the marriage than the wedding! Woohoo!
