Venue hunting has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. But, after much stress, and many tears, my FI and I have finally booked the perfect venue for our June 2015 wedding, and I couldn’t possibly be more excited! It was so hard to find a place that fit with our budget, and still had all of those little things that we were looking for, like: outdoor ceremony space that needed little decor, back up location in case of rain, indoor reception space, onsite bridal suite, decent proximity to the city/airport, nice hotels nearby, amazing food, willingness to customize packages, and a name that sounds okay on invitations (the place we fell in love with 1st literally changed their name and now has the word “beer” in the name). Budget wise we were looking for a place with site fees less than $1500.00, and catering options under $80.00/pp, that didn’t want an arm and a leg for a deposit upfront, and didn’t have one of those crazy required payment schedules. When we found the Gables, it was everything we were looking for and more. I’m so glad I didn’t give up the venue hunt. I was getting so frustrated. I feel like I’m getting absolutely everything I wanted, no sacrafices, and still coming in under budget! I just had to share my good news, with someone, so I thought I’d share it with you bees!

How nice! I love the floors and wooden beams.
I completely understand what you mean about names sounding good on the invitations.
We were going to renew our vows at “Two Hearts Wedding Chapel”. The name matches the cheesy and cheap chapel.
We upgraded to “Calvary Chapel” which sounds far better.

I’m on the venue hunt right now and feeling really frustrated. We just moved to the area two weeks ago and I had to start my planning all over again in a place I know nothing about. I have phone calls/emails out to several places and this is one of them. It sounds like we have similar venue budgets. It’s great to hear such good things about it and that the price is right! I’ll be sure to check it out. Thanks for sharing and congrats on finding your venue!
