@FutureLadyL:  Are you thinking Napa/Sonoma County vineyard wedding here in Northern California? Or are you looking at vineyards in the central or southern California area? We are talking a DRASTIC difference in pricing.

@FutureLadyL:  Any place within a 30-45 drive of Napa and Sonoma is going to be very expensive. You are looking at $8,000-$10,000 (or more) just to rent the location and this usually doesn’t include any additional amenities. What is your overall budget?

Central California (Lodi, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara) would be a more cost effective option. I had a friend get married at Mondo Cellars. Very pretty location, affordable and spacious.

April can be a bit wet up here in Northern California. Central California tends on the drier side so if your date is April 16 that is something to consider for an outdoor wedding. You definitely want to have a rain back up option just in case!

@FutureLadyL:  A smaller guest list might make a difference, especially if you approach it from more of a dinner party perspective. I can’t think of any small wedding venues around here but definitely check out this website. I would contact these options and see what they can provide for your small group.

For B&B’s I have stayed at or been recommended the following:

-Meadowlark Country House

-Cottages of Napa Valley

-Churchill Manor

-White House Inn and Spa (AMAZING!)

Oh and mid-late May is GORGEOUS around here! Green hills and vineyards, warm weather but not too warm. We got married in mid-May.

@FutureLadyL:  The more cost effective places I’ve looked at are in the East Bay or outside of Sacramento. If you go north of Sonoma County, there’s a vineyard that’s very DIY that’s around 5k for 2014 pricing, which is similar to East Bay / Sacramento pricing.

I couldn’t find a vineyard for less than 10k (does not include catering or rentals) for a venue fee, so ended up at a historic mansion instead. Maybe you can look into Jack London State Park, which has an abandoned vineyard on the grounds. It’s been featured on budget savvy bride for an $8k wedding – it’s simply gorgeous!

@FutureLadyL:  I’d suggest looking into Kenwood Inn & Spa.  They are great to work with and often do elopements or small weddings (that look soooo fun).  Their site fee is much lower than many other places.  They aren’t a vineyard, but are located right across the road from vineyards and have better hours and policies than any vineyard venue.

This wedding looks like it had maybe 30 guests max there and it’s gorgeous- http://www.jetfeteblog.com/destination-weddings/intimate-destination-wed-sonoma

The area is so lush, you don’t need to spend as much on decor.  I’ve seen 10 person weddings here that look amazing.  love this place

@Mimiz:

You guys might want to try out Murrieta’s Well in Livermore. That’s my venue for my November wedding 🙂

For 80 guests, rental, food (four courses), day-of coordinator, we’re just paying 10k 🙂
