For me today was one of the days brides are looking forward to: My hair and make-up trial! I wanted to share some pics!
Here are the pics with my DIY-birdcage:
Do you think I should but some kind of fascinator to the birdcage or just leave it plain?
And here some pics of the hair without birdcage (I’ll only have the birdcage for the ceremony). I borrowed the dress from my sister for the pics (not my wedding dress).
What do you think? Should I keep the two-small-orchids-thing or should I go for one big? Purple or white? Thanks ladies!

I love the two flowers for after the ceremony. I’m not really sure if you should put a fascinator with the veil or not though.

I think the two purple orchids look awesome! I’d wear just the birdcage (no flowers) for the ceremony, and then remove the veil and add the two purple orchids like you have them in the pictures for the reception.
Did you use a hairpiece or something else underneath your hair to make the bun look bigger? Or is that all your real hair? I love that folded bun look.

Awww…you look gorgeous! So pretty and classy. I’m voting for 2 purple orchids. Wasn’t positive about birdcage from side view, but it’s SO adorable from the front. Love the hair!

I love the two purple flowers! I think it may be too much for the ceremony to have the birdcage and the flowers…can you put the flowers in after the ceremony and have the flowers just for the reception?
So pretty! I would do the birdcage only for the ceremony and then put in the orchids for the reception.

Hmm… you look so pretty that I feel like anything that detracts from you face is a downside. I would probably not go with anything. You with your hair do & makeup is a perfect combination in itself. Your photos would defintiely sustain the test of time through generations.
That being said, if you really want something, maybe birdcage only for the ceremony and place a white orchid/gardenia in the back for the reception?

@ MissAsB, Jacqi,Ms.Teddy, KIKI82, pren79:
Thank you so much, ladies! Maybe you’re right and the flowers PLUS birdcage are too much… I’m just worried it won’t be easy to put the flowers to my hair by myself after the ceremony. I don’t know how good my friends are at that, either…
@ Jacqi (again 😉 ): Underneath the bun there’s one of those doughnuts-hairpieces.
@ jadeblue: Thank you! I didn’t really like the side of the birdcage either, but I think we can hide it better next time (for the real wedding up-do). That’s the reason, why I’m thinking of the fascinator-thing, but on the other hand it might be too much.

That looks great! I love the orchids but don’t really think that you need them.. By the way, how did you get the orchids to stay in your hair?

I LOVE the birdcage! You are so pretty- you look a bit like a young Audrey Hepburn or Audrey Tatou.

@ pinkmonkee: Thank you! It’s really simple: you take the orchid and wrap wire around the stalk. Let some wire stick out, so you can attach the orchid like a hair pin. I think I’ll do a tutorial in a few days and post the link here, so you can see how to do it.
@ Monkeygirl: Thank you! The style really came out 20s-like, although it wasn’t the former intention…

I vote birdcage for ceremony (maybe with a small fascinator) and then two small orchids for the reception.

@ caszos: Thank you for voting!
I have to admit, that I really really thought most of you would vote for WHITE BIG orchid! Like that (I know she has two orchids, but thery’re big and white 😉 ):
I am so surprised. I actually only bought the purple orchids, because there were no big and nice white ones and I thought: Oh, well purple and small for trial, but big and white for the wedding. It’s unbelievable, that purple/small became such a great alternative. And again: Thank you all for voting!

I just have to say, you have beautiful skin (or beautiful makeup) – you seriously look like a porcelin doll in this first 2 pictures!

@ daydreamwanderer: Thank you!!! The make-up was from LANCÔME.
By the way: When I had my make-up done I thought the stylist put way too much eye-shadow on my lid, but on the pics it looks ok… now I don’t know wheater to tell her to put less on next time or not…
