I am very excited to share my new ring with the Hive 🙂
The ring was made by Laurie Sarah Designs on Etsy. My search for the perfect ring has been 5 YEARS in the making, not to mention the fact that finding padparadshcas, let alone good ones are like going on a wild goose chase. I was really picky about the sapphire’s cut, color, well basically everything. She emailed me pics of the stones to select, had it recut, and called me directly when I had questions about the color. I have been intrigued by the padparadscha for a long time. Hopefully this is the first of a good collection.
I know not everyone cares, but for the jewelry hounds like myself, here’s the info.Setting: 14k white gold set with diamonds on the outer halo and split shank. The inner halo is made up of small blushy pink sapphires set in 14k rose gold to accent their color. The center stone is a 1.52 carat padparadscha sapphire (perfect blend of pink and orange, no brown). The color is ridiculously hard to capture in pics, it’s coming across a little more neon than it actually is. IRL it’s a delicate blend between a lotus flower and a sunset. It’s breathtaking. I was checking it out under the low lights in my bathroom and it just glows.
I’m having a wedding band made to go with the ring, a rose gold band set with baby pink sapphires. I’ve also posted some pics of padparadscha examples to illustrate what I was after. Thanks for looking!
