GREAT SONG! I choreograph wedding first dances on the side, and I had a couple who did this back in the summer and it was so nice! The lyrics are wonderful and yeah... I'd cry too! haha

LOVE IT! It's such a genuinely sweet and honest song without being cheesy :) I think it'll be perfect! I'm a big Dave fan though, so I'm terribly biased...haha
I also LOVE IT! Like you guys, we don't really have 'a song' either. I played it for him a couple of months ago, and he actually loves it too. Every now and then I'll catch him singing the lyrics.. hehe. It's currently the number one contender for our first dance song :)

Ohhh Punky you are my new BFF. That's a brilliant idea. One of Mr. O's best men is playing the guitar for our processional/recessional, and I may see if he can do an acoustic version of that. You're a flipping genius :)

We picked a first dance song!
Mister O and I don't really have a song, so it was tricky. Our contenders were:
Jack Johnson, Better Together
Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift, Two Is Better Than One
Andrew Lipke, Stick By You (sorry, that's the only video of it I could find...just listen)
And I, of course, was campaigning hard for:
Hall & Oates, You Make My Dreams
Fo' serious. It's getting played during the reception at least.
So, none of these were really us. We tried to make each of them work, even dancing in our living room and seeing if we were feeling it. I was kind of resigned to just picking a pretty song and moving on.
And then, people, out of left field, comes Dave Matthews with this gorgeous song:

Instant tears. And I cry every time I hear it. Mr. Octo heard it once and agreed that it was perfect for us; we moved five states away from all our familes and friends and are making it work. When we have kids, we want to encourage them to really spread their wings and take a huge chance like we did. What did I tell you...perfect! What do ya'll think? How did you pick your first dance song?
And yeah, I'm crying again.
