hi hive!
I don't know if you rememeber, but I had a *lot* of ring drama surrounding my custom ring about a month ago. Basically, I wanted a replica of a Tacori and the resulting custom ring looked nothing like it (pics on previous threads), and then the jeweler tried to convince me that they were almost identical.
Well, we got store credit and ordered a Scott Kay ring over a month ago. I finally got the call that it is READY today and I'm so excited to go pick it up!! I'm at work until 4, but these next few hours will pass by soo slowly I am sure. I've been getting so antsy without a ring! Because of what I'd went through, I'm worried something will go wrong. Like, the ring isn't what I remembered it to be, or that it doesnt fit (OMG I will be SO upset if I have to wait any longer to get it resized. I'm sorry if that makes me sound like a brat, but I want this situation over and done with)
I am so anxious/nervous/excited! I'll be sure to post pics when I take it home, hopefully tonight :D
EEEEE!!! Please post pics as soon as you get it!!
I can't wait to see pictures. I was just thinking about you and your ring drama yesterday. I hope it is perfect. By the way, have things become smoother with the FMIL since the original post?
Yay!!! I hope it is even more beautiful than you remember it. I'm glad you chased the issue. Every time you look at your engagement ring it should make you happy!
@BayStateBride: i definitely will! I'm so excited to get this all over and done with. But I'm still bracing for it to go wrong.. eek! 4 more hrs!
@burris4: Aw, thank you for thinking of me. I'm touched you still remember/read the FMIL posts too. Since the last update, I had FI call her once more to smooth things over - it went.. so-so. Nothing really happened, but she resigned herself to saying "just make sure she's not taking advantage of you". I'd assume she means I take advantage of his kindness, since I make more money than him. She got me a Christmas present, but I also know she bought it before we got engaged, so.. I am unsure of where we stand. The next time I see her will be awkward for sure.
Awesome, I'm so glad you had a positive result!! Can't wait to see pictures! :)
How exciting! I hope you love it and I'm sure it will be beautiful!
OMG! My ass would be sneaking out of work right NOW to go pick it up. hahaha. Cant wait to see it!
post a picture when you get it!! I hope its everything you have wanted in a ring!
Yay!!! I have been waiting for an update! I cant wait to see it! I hope you are very, very happy!!!!
I sincerely hope it's just what you wanted! I can't wait to see it!!!!!
@pinkshoes: LOL you are too funny. I won't lie, that thought definitely crossed my mind :P But then I'd also have to convince my FI to sneak out of work, because I don't want to go to the jeweler alone. I'm very non-confrontational, so I want to make sure I go with FI whenever I interact with the jeweler in case he tries to pull another fast one on me
3 more hours!!
@sugarcube: Ahhhh it probably seems like time is suddenly moving ssssslllllloooowwwweeerrrrrrr
Oh phew, I'm so glad the jeweller finally relented and gave you store credit. Here's hoping everything's perfect today :)
SO glad you were able to receive store credit after all that you've gone through and that you now have a gorgeous new ring waiting for you! Can't wait to see the pics!!
I'm finally home! Traffic was horrible :( It took 1 hr to get there, and 1 hr to get back when it usually takes about 10 minutes each. I was getting SO antsy. Then when we arrived, we learned the jeweler who we've been working with had to go home to take care of his sick daughter. Another employee showed us the rings, but said if we wanted to get them appraised we would have to leave the rings there. I felt my heart sink - but then another employee came by and said that the jeweler had already done the appraisal and sent it into the typist prior to him leaving. So I got to take my rings home!
I'm still very new at this picture-taking thing ;) Please excuse my ugly nails and hairy knuckles, lol!

Thank you EVERYONE for all your support these last few weeks! I'm glad to finally have it over and done with.
Now... Since it'll take a week or so to get the appraisal, and another week or so to get insurance, I am *super* worried I will lose my ring. First world problems, eh? :P
ETA: I'm worried about losing it by it falling off my finger! I don't know how tight its supposed to fit, and I feel like with the cold dry winter air, its a bit slippery. :/
Yay it's beautful!! Glad you finally got it. Don't take it off! That way you won't lose it.
Oh that is beautiful!! So much more like what you were thinking than that original ring. Congrats on the gorgeous sparkly!!!!!
Your ring is gorgeous! Yay!! I am so happy for you!
P.S. I agree with PPs. The best way to not lose your ring is to always have it in one of only two clearly identified places -- on your finger, or securely tucked away in its ring box (NEVER by itself anywhere, at any time, for any reason) somewhere safe in your house. That way you'll never have to wonder where it is.
Oops - when I mentioned losing it, I meant that I was worried about it falling off my finger since its cold and my fingers shrink! Eek. I bought the elephant ring holder from red evelope to keep it safe while I sleep/shower
@blingbling: Yup, its a moissanite! Its the same center stone that was in my old ring (the one posted in previous threads). Its the Mira moissanite, so I think its whiter than the "regular" ones. Although, I think they renamed it to Amora now?
Now that's more like it! I still can't believe how hard the jeweller tried before to ignore the glaring differences between your inspiration ring and what he gave you. This is much more subtle...well, as subtle as a gorgeous giant sparkly stone can be, at least ;) The halo is just right.
@sugarcube: Lol. Big rock, small fingers, it looks pretty impresive though.
Yay!!!! Looks awesome, just like the stock photo! I'm soooooo happy for you, finally!
oh, so beautiful! Definitely the halo style you posted about previously. And damn, that moissy looks goooood :)
The ring is beautiful!
I was a silent observer on all your previous ring threads...and (as another non-confrontational person) I think that you should be really proud of yourself and your FI for how you handled all the crazy!
It's gorgeous!!! Looks just like the Tacori you dreamed of! Congrats, glad your wait is over.
@sugarcube: I think it is absolutely lovely. Is it everything you hoped it would be? I know you were having some late minute concerns that it would be wrong. It looks perfect to me, how do you feel about the ring now that it is on your finger?
@sugarcube- Your ring really is gorgeous... looks like you got what you wanted..yaY!!! About finger shrinkage due to cold, maybe you can get those cheapy plastic ring guards to help keep in on your finger while you get it sized. My ring was about a size to big and prior to having it sized I was scared of it flying off too.. I think I found a package of them at Wal Mary or Target for around $5...
