I’m looking for all the tips I can get. We’re leaving to an unknown destination in 4 weeks. I was thinking of doing one of those last minute bargains, or maybe using Groupon. Anyone have experience doing that? I’d also love destination/hotel recommendations. We live in NJ and I’m not super crazy about flying, so the onyl limit if the flight would have to be under 4 hours.

What about Colorado (not sure on flight times though)? My bff and her family LOVE it and go every other year around the July time (she’ll actually be getting married there next July). She says it’s absolutely stunning. I’ve only seen photos and I cannot wait to go next summer! I’ve heard Denver is amazing (but pricey). They go to Crested Butte and highly recommend it.
-Mexico (a friend got a great Groupon deal for her and her SO for last month)
-Seattle…I’ve always wanted to go
-San Francisco (too far of a plane ride, but I want to go)
-St. Pete Beach, Florida…very pretty!
ETA: Oh! Forgot one…Charleston, SC

GrannyPantiesRock: We’re in NJ too. I would recommend Florida. It would be a pretty short flight (less than 3 hours). You could go to Orlando and go to the theme parks or head to one of the beaches. I would recommend St. Pete Beach, like KatiePi. It’s a gorgeous area with a lot to do.

GrannyPantiesRock: I am seconding the Florida suggestion… there is so much you could see & do… depending what you’re interested in …
you could focus on nature with all the state & national parks…
…if you enjoy theme parks you have all the Disney parks, Universal studios , Bush Gardens, Sea World etc. to chose from
… you could go snorkling / diving / swimming with manatees or dolphines
…there is lot’s of history and art to see as well
Does a cruise appeal to you? if so you should be able to chose from plenty from Miami on…

If I were you, I’d get over the plane thing and go to Europe or the Caribbean, but if that’s not an option…
Key West (I hate Florida, but people say it’s nice)
