I was SO thrilled on Christmas day when my grandmother offered to let me try on her mother’s wedding ring! She offered it to me a while ago to use as my future e-ring, and I have been dying to see it ever since! The setting is super retro, and SO will have it reset when the time comes (sometime this spring, aah!) So here it is:
Sorry if it’s huge, I have no idea how to make it smaller! And also sorry for my sad winter hands…of course this was right after being outside lugging the presents to the car so they are definitely not in a photo taking condition!
I believe the diamond is about half a carat. I picked a setting a week ago or so in which to reset the center stone:
It’s a Tacori, which I LOVE but I know they are pretty pricey. The idea is to have SO find something similar or go the custom route. I’m excited!!

@blushblossom91: Is that like a “nugget style” ring? Lots of lovely gold there. Can’t wait to see it reset!

@LilRhodyGem: It certainly is! In an earlier post I had someone on the Bee ask what I meant by a “nugget” setting, and I didn’t even know exactly what it looked like until now! It’s definitely unique.

@blushblossom91: hahaha too funny. my mom’s original ering looked JUST like that but with a marquis center stone! it’s totally nugget!!! haaaa. the tacori you chose is awesome and since you are saving on the price of a center stone (we did, too) maybe you can have it!!!

That is a interesting look to say so. IMO I think it would be neat to do a custom ring and use all of that good gold to create a new style. That way it keeps the heirloom appeal. I love the taquori setting you picked though so it will be great no matter what.
